A local gun store near me is going out of business and are selling these for $50.  Is it worth it?  I'm not to familiar with these guns.  They say they are Hungarian and Romanian manufacture.

Absolutely. These are nice little carbines and lots of fun , cheap ammo available, too. Since they are not Chinese, I say go for it. For that price get two.

I hear they are pretty accurate, too.

Yes. For that price get several and give some away as gifts.

I'll forward my address. [;)]

If they are in about the same condition, get the Romanian, they usually have a little better workmanship with Polish being the most desireable. Either way a good gun for the money.

I prefer the Finnish M39, but for $50.00, you can't go wrong. Buy it.

Got a Russian one from AIM on sale for $40. Unfortunetely I only bought one.

Everybody and their brother gave me shit for not getting them one too. Still haven't heard the last of it.

Get it. But make sure to ask your friends if they want one too.

Just bought a Soviet one for $99 today, and my wife didn't even go ballistic.

A $50 rifle? Hell yeah. Go for it.

DAMN!!!  I went back to get it and the sales lady quoted me the wrong price!  Ended up being $75/gun.  I got 2 anyways!  One Romanian and one Hungarian.  Absolutley no wear on the actions or bores, no wear on any of the barrel blueing either.  Numbers match too!  I'm willing to believe these are unfired, unissued rifles, 54' 53' production.  10 days won't come soon enough!  [sleep]

You can't beat the M44 for value when it comes to centerfire, bolt action, five shot capacity.  Be careful when shooting it at night though.  The muzzle flash will make you think you are shooting a flame thrower.
