I really like my watch - but mostly because it's functional.

It's a citizen Eco-Drive diving watch, which I really like for two reasons:
1. It charges its internal battery in any light, so it never needs a battery change.
2. It has a (very accurate) depth gauge in it, which provides a valuable backup if my dive computer fails.

Because I'm too cheap to buy separate watches for separate things, I just wear this watch every day.

(Although my dad did give me a nice regimental dress watch a bunch of years ago, so if I ever needed a fancy watch, I could always look around for that and wear it - I don't really know where it is right now, since I've never worn it).

I quit wearing a watch about the time I started having a cellphone with me 24/7... haven't missed it yet.

But y'all have some beutiful, fine watches, no doubt - no flame intended.

I have this same POS phone, cracked for the "locked" features I rarely use, but it's calendar/reminder system fails all the time...

I had one of those over 20 years ago. Amazing any of them are still around and work.

I have mine, but it needs a new band.

I've always liked watches.

It was about 4 years of making the occasional visit to Timezone.com and browse around to appreciate automatics.

I discovered the Breitling Blackbird and realized it was the watch I had been looking for.  Sorry for the melodramatics here...

It was about another year of stalking the internet to make my eventual purchase.

I bought this off ebay, believe it or not, for an absolute steal.  My mindset was that I would not pay up for a watch unless I got it for a price which I deemed to be well under its market value.  A pipe dream, I know, but I did it.  Like I said, it took about a year.
