It was very funny to hear Freeh talk about how overwhelmed he was with his boss's scandals.  Past scandals, present scandals, emerging scandals, it never ended with Clinton.

Actually, the true progressives (our real enemies) dislike the Clintons and their centrist legacy. He screwed them with NAFTA, welfare reform and a host of other issues.

If a democrats would come out and be pro-gun, and want lower taxes for everyone the Republicans would lose in a heartbeat. Alas, they cannot abandon the progressive margin just as the Republicans cannot abandon the fundamentalist margin.

At least he has a legacy.

Don't forget, he was the first president to lose the key to the nuclear football.

You forgot about his in 2nd place for nailing the most poontang in the Oval Office.

JFK still holds that record.

But Clinton does hold the record for nailing the fattest pig in the Oval Office.

Wheras JFK has the record for the the best trim. (Marilyn). And having the best looking first lady.

Nope, he just sat around for 8 years while that nation was used as a stewpot of terrorism and regional unrest, and while hundreds of Americans were killed by terrorists, and while thousands more had their fates sealed because he wanted to indict Bin Laden rather than KILL him.

We're getting Afghanistan confused with Iraq again!

Doesn't matter now anyway as we're ears deep into it now, so that said......

On the nosey.  You get it.  See, most of us are in the middle, dem or Rep.  The outer fringes however few are really loud and they get heard.  Clinton found his center and was successful, even with his shameful conduct.  GWB found his center and was successful even with his errors and faults.  Gore, Kerry, Dole, never found that center and failed.

Well said, both of you!

Is it?

Do you see it threatening to launch WMD at Israel? Do you see it threatening to mine the Persian Gulf? Do you see it threatening to invade Kuwait (again) or Saudi Arabia?

No? I wonder why?

As for terrorism, sure, they're there, but now they are being KILLED there instead of TRAINED and FUNDED there.

We're getting Afghanistan confused with Iraq again!

I'm not so sure...

Dole simply didn't find ANYONE. He makes Gore look exciting. He was also up against Clinton and the entire media. BAD combination.

Gore lost...... BARELY, and there's no denying the communist little scumbag convinced more people in this country that HE was a better choice than W. (Christ, what a nightmare THAT would have been!)

sKerry was a slimy little shit, and people saw that.

I really think a large percentage of America votes for the person they think will be the best LEADER, and vote party second. Then you have the true-believers (like most of us here), who will almost die before we vote for the other side.

I think that's why Reagan was so popular: He gave so many people HOPE and something to believe in.

And if the "progressives" (read: "liberals who can't call themselves what they are") don't like Clinton, then God help us if one of them ever gets to the WH!

ETA: Also, if Dems went pro-gun and lower-taxes, they would cease to be dems, now wouldn't they?

I completely agree with you Zaphod, but for arguements sake....

All that hoopla about terrorists in Iraq, WMD's not being chucked into Israel, etc....

Those are all excuses, though completely rational, to justify the clusterfuck over there.

No one predicted what's going down over there....

Except the dem-heads, of course.  Those Kerry-types are talented in predicting things after they happen.

But had Bush sat in front of a crystal ball, you have to wonder if he'd have the same approach on Iraq.  We're not talking subtle changes either, but large, "do I even bother" changes.

You forgot gutting the military and intelligence assets for 8 years.

Being capable of nothing more than an anemic response to deadly attacks to our military and homeland. Therefore encouraging the terrorists and giving them hope and encouragement to not only continue but to escalate their attacks.

Selling out to Red China(most favored nation status) so that they can buy up our technologies to build better weapons to use against us.
