Usually if you hit 0, it will get you to a human. On alot of phone systems anyway...

Every so often a company puts in the software to determine that a person is cusing and then puts them through to a person.  I called one such place and after swimming in the menu for 10 minutes I said "Fuck this", and started to hang up.  Just then the music stopped and I heard ringing.  I was then greeted by a human.

Since that day I sound like a drunken sailor when an IVR picks up.  Once or twice it's actually worked.

Works for Apple.  Microsoft didn't recognize a single "0" or a string of curses yesterday, but it did recognize me pounding on the "0" repeatedly.  

Had the MS tech push me off to another department, but she stayed on the line to explain the issue to the next in line.  As the thing was dialling she says, "Oh goody, looks like you're going to India.  Lucky you."  God help anyone calling about licensing though.. They've messed with the system so much that it seems their primary copy protection is annoyance now.
