Story by The Omaha Channel

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Lancaster County deputies went looking for a robbery suspect Monday morning and instead scared a man into breaking a bone.

Authorities said they went to a house at 26th and Vine street in Lincoln. They knocked on the door and no one answered, so they left.

On the way out, they heard a thud and found Howard Isadore, 39, lying on the ground with a broken leg. Isadore had been hiding inside the apartment had jumped from the second-story balcony to avoid arrest for outstanding warrants, deputies said.

Isadore was treated and arrested.

But deputies are still shaking their heads because Isadore was not the man they were looking for when they went to the house.

Stupid hurts.

I wouldnt even have arrested him.  If you take him into custody with a broken leg then the taxpayers get stuck with the medical bills.  Should have let him go and told him to take care of the warrants or we'll be back in 6 weeks.
