My father in law wants to put a red dot type sight on a 44 magnum revolver.
Has here done this? Will the recoil be an issue ? Brand / Model suggestions?

Cmore or Docter Optics if you want the HUD type. Aimpoint, Pro Point, Bushnell if you want the "tube" type. All those mentioned will hold a zero. There are a lot more choices out there. It will depend on the type you want and your budget.

I would look in the revolver forum first if not search the GD.

JERRY MICULEK is a well know USPSA shooter if you google him you should find more info than you need.

c-more railway (what I'd pick)
