Not sure, but it will get you a loaf of black bread or two pairs of feinstein's used panties in kali so I'd say you're pretty close.

Hire a lawyer. It will be cheaper. Trust me.

Maybe a couple of hundred for a lawyer compared to $400+ if you eat the 20+ mph ticket.

Tried to find a payout sheet on thier website ---no luck, try to call direct.

Here

Did find this in the FAQs:

I'm pregnant. The HOV lane requires two persons in a vehicle. Now that I'm eating for two, can I use this lane?
Answer (drumroll):

California law requires that in order to utilize the HOV lane, there must be two (or, if posted, three) separate individuals occupying seats in a vehicle. Until your "passenger" is capable of riding in his or her own seat, you cannot count them.

wow....I guess some people needed to know....

Was it a car or motorcycle cop? How did he catch you speeding, radar or used his speedometer? And, was it videotaped if he used a car?

What part of I-15, which county, San Bernardino County, or Riverside County ?

If San Bernardino, probably Victorville or San Bernardino city, check their respective websites for fine amounts.   They may be posted.

ETA:  9 MPH more and it would be jail time. 100 or over is automatic reckless driving conviction in cali, Minimum 30 day suspension of your license and huge fine, usually starts at $900-1000 range.

ETA: The courts use a formula like:

10 dollars per mile over for the first 15 miles,

then 20-25 dollars per thereafter up to 100. (May not be accurate, but close)

After 100, BOHICA !

100 or more, no traffic school.

Our judge hates traffic school, PERIOD, won't allow it.

amare32suns may be able to get it, but he will still get a serious fine and have to pay additionally for the school.

If I were you I would really not be worried so much about the cost of the ticket and mainly be thankful my ass wasn't in the back of a patrol car or in a cell for reckless driving.

Stinks, but that stretch is notorious for lack of  verbal warnings and "professional courtesy" due to the high speeds routinely driven.

You have to pay zero.  Send a registered letter to the agency that wrote the ticket WRT discovery and ask for a photocopy of the back of the officer's ticket.  When they don't respond (and they never do) send another registered letter requesting dismissal of your case due to lack of evidence.  They will find in your favor.

NOLA press has a book detailing this procedure, you will pay nothing.

For me, I never enter Riverside county as I connect to the I-15 via the I-210. It's all pretty much San Bernardino all the way to state line. I think he got the ticket past Victorville or Barstow as that is where EVERYONE speeds. Most traffic is 80mph+, and all of that area is again, San Bernardino county.

I doubt most people on this site fathom how big SB county is, it is not like the little postage stamp counties that only take 30min to cross you find in most states back east. SB county is one of the largest, if not the biggest county in the nation. It is bigger than some states IIRC. Most of it is empty desert/Death Valley, and the only real population is in Victorville/Hesperia/Barstow, and the western side of Cajon pass( Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino city, Upland etc...).

ETA: SB county is 20,160 Square Miles in area. Clark county, NV is only 8,012 sq miles andit is bigger than NJ.

Its a big county (lived in 29 palms for a while), but I dont think it is nearly as big as Harney county, Oregon.

91MPH? i'll bet its close to $300.00. hell running a stop sign is over $200.00 now.

Compared to;
MJ possession $40.00
MIP $100.00
DUI $390.00
Pissing in public $70.00
Unlicensed driver $20.00

Movers are expensive.

In my younger days I got stopped for speeding on freeway.  It was 2AM and the cop's probably feeling generous, or just didn't want to bother, so he wrote me down for 96MPH (over a hundred and he'd have to take me in, impound my car, and do all that paperwork).  I was called to face the judge, got a fine for $360, license yanked for a month, and had to pay and take traffic school.  I figure it costed me $500, and this was in 1993 in Orange County.

I don't think you should bother with a lawyer.  It's not a DUI and you are not going to jail.  You might challenge the cop's speedometer, but most likely you'll just have to take your lump and be careful next time.

Yes it is the biggest County.  It's bigger than 7 states and is bigger than the 3 smallest combined.  There are really no reasonable alternate routes between Las Vegas and Barstow in CA. There are a few rotues between Barstow and Hesperia/Victorville, but you then pretty much have to go through Cajon Pass.  In other words, one accident and traffic gets horrendously stalled for hours out in the middle of what is mostly godforsaken desert.

And I expect that if you go through the discovery process and and try the BS you better be prepared to go to court if they respond.

They try to control things out there because all it takes is one idiot doing stupid things (if shoe fits, wear same) and has a incident (not accident, if you do something stupid it isn't an accident) then you tie up the road for freaking hours.  What they should do is publicize the name, address and picture of bozos that tie up the 15.  Front page on the Times and REgister - "This is the guy that caused the accident that cause thousands of motorists to sit in the desert looking at the lights of Baker last Sunday night.  Write him and tell him what you think of him.  Note HOME address included.  Now that ought to solve the problem.
