Gang Members Arrested In Alleged Drug Ring

Sep 30, 2005 5:55 pm US/Pacific
LONG BEACH, Calif. (AP) Thirteen people have been arrested in connection with a methamphetamine and crack cocaine ring operated by a Long Beach street gang.

Most of those arrested today are charged in federal indictments that accuse them of selling or distributing drugs. The indictments say most of the alleged transactions involved FBI informants.

The investigation called "Operation Asylum" began after a spate of gang-related shootings between two Long Beach gangs between 2002 and 2003.
