Quoted: Go to the EU countries and you'll see as many EU flags as national flags

Are you speaking from experience? If so, what countries in the EU have you seen this in? Because if not, you are either
(1) talking out of your ass, or
(2) NOT describing ALL European Union countries.
I've been to Denmark twice in the past year, and I did not see a SINGLE - not one - EU flag in the whole two weeks I was there. Both times, I spent a lot of time in Copenhagen, as well as driving around much of northern Zealand. Lots of Danish flags flying, and lots of Danish banners* - but no EU flags anywhere to be seen.
While I was there in the summer, it was just after one of the referendums elsewhere in Europe that rejected the EU constitution, and I did see an EU coffin, in a demonstration that was celebrating the death of the EU constitution
* - just to clarify, there is an official "banner" version of the Danish flag that a lot of people fly on their home flagpole. The reason for that is that you are allowed to fly the banner at night, but not the flag - and in Denmark, you do not see people fly their flag in the dark (it is considered very poor taste to do so). So many people get the banner and fly that on their flagpole, instead of the full flag. Here is a pic:
