[ARCHIVED THREAD] - What to do in Singapore?

Have been in Singapore for about 1.5 weeks. Looks like I have about 2-3 weeks left. Staying on Orchard Road. Have been to Sentosa Island and the Orchard Towers already. Anybody got any suggestions on other things to do? Please don't tell me to go shopping. Went to the Sembawang Community Centre yesterday and walked into an Airsoft Cafe. Lots of toys. They had an outdoor range where they where practicing. Work pretty much all day and manage to get a few hours free here and there.

ill be in singapore in awhile too......did you try the infamous "four floors of whores" i hear about in such high regard?

I think you are thinking of "nine floors of whores" - Brumby Hall at UGA.

Head across the bridge into J.B. - the Malaysians are much more laid back.

If you have a couple of days, you could head up to one of the Malaysian beach resorts - like Penang, or some of the islands over on the east coast, if you're into that kind of thing.

- Bike riding at East Coast Park. You can rent bikes...
- Barhopping at Boat Quay.
- Eat. Try everything. My favourite places include the hawker centres at Newton Circus, and Ghim Moh.

ETA: Mohammed Sultan Rd. for more barhopping.

-eat chicken rice if you haven't by now & screw around in hawker centres
-buy a thumbdrive if you dont have one by now
-visit Funan
Not much to do outdoors.

no...actually he was quite right....."Four Floors of Whores" it was actually in a travel guide book my buddy bought before we went over there. LOL....

anyway, also check out Father Flannigan's Irish pub, great for watching soccer among rowdy Brits (interesting to witness)

Also check out the Long Bar in the Raffles Hotel, birthplace of the Singapore Sling, go have one there just to say you did. ALSO....if you like to relax to live piano music and martinis, check out the lounge in the evenings at the Pan Pacific Hotel.

Most of the stories I heard about Singapore involve VD....

If your into electronics... goto Sim Lim Towers (i think thats the name... been a few years). It s nothing but 6-7 floors of electronic stores. I had some fun in there.
