I just went for a short run. I came across a guy and his two dogs in the greenbelt. When I first passed he called the medium sized brown dog to him and did nothing with a large malamute type. Nothing happened.  When I came back the other way, he again restrained the medium dog. This time, the large dog trotted up to me (did not appear threatening) and suddenly gave a deep growl and nipped at my shirt right where my concealed Kahr PM9 was. I put a hand out and he backed off.

The guy was freaked out. I told him not to worry about it. I may need to get a dog to deal with other dogs.

Actually, I stopped taking my dog on jogs past one guy's house with two aggressive dogs.  They were both small and yappy, but for some reason Dexter just seemed  to really piss them off!  

Not worried about my dog, but what he would do to them if they did attack.  Now I take another street and avoid his house all together...
