Hey I am about to order some 5.11s for myself and I have never seen them in person much less tried them on. I wear 29x30 but they only make 28x30 and 30x30

Since they have elastic I was thinking that the 30x30 pair would be the better bet. Do the sizes tend to run tight or loose?

They run a touch loose.

I thought they were a little loose around the waist but tight in the crotch/ass compared to BDUs.

They fit kinda like Bugle Boys. They look kinda like Bugle Boys too.

Depends on which generation.

I wear 32x32 pants. The first couple pair of Rayoal Robbins 5.11 I bought fit like they should. The pairs of Royal Robbins 5.11 "tacticals" fit a little looser.

The Current non royal robbins generaltion of 5.11's fits right in waist but are cut long. I wear a 32 inseam but have to order 30 now or they are too long.

my advice is order one size shorter than you normally wear.

A bit loose, plus they have the elastic band.

I wear 36's in 5.11 and am totally comfy (6'1", 210lbs)

Where do you buy these? Is there a difference between 5 11's and Royal Robbins? Are there any catalogue or web pages that show what they look like?

I ordered a black pair of 32x32 and they were fine. I then ordered an ash pair of 32x32 and the legs seem to be about 1 - 2 inches long.

Weird..

I have to buy my "normal" length and get them hemmed in the cuff. The ones made in Vietnam are the worst in leg length.

So any new model labeled "tactical" is probably going to fit a bit loose?
How can you tell which ones are made in Vietnam? I want to place my order before the weekend ends. Going to be ordering from ADCO...

I didn't realize until tonight when I looked at the tag in a pair after reading this thread that they were made in Vietnam. Other than than the tag I don't know of anyway of telling.
