Getting ready to put together my M4.  I actually had to run to Walmart to buy a hammer, I'd forgotten to figure out how I was going to install the trigger guard pin, and I didnt have one at my apartment (left all the tools except a set of computer/electronic-oriented items at my parents' house).  I ended up using one of my weights as an anvil and just carefully tapping it in.

I think I might have been surfing ARFCOM.  Now a year ago tomorrow I was skipping out on lunch and going to the gun store to buy used LEO Glock mags for $10 each, $300 dollars later I went back to work.

Well for those of us in Cali, we were able to make our post-bans into pre-bans. So it did have an effect here.

I was living in California, staring at a FAB-10 laying beside me pondering how I might move to Ohio.

That was a productive night, as planning goes.

I was keeping an eye out for ice cream trucks.  Alas, never did see any with Uzi's and AK's falling out the back, littering the streets.

A year ago this time....I was a college brat, not even seriously considering the Army.

Now Im an MP, sitting in Germany, waiting to go to Kabul AO in a few months as a gunner.
