My family lives 20miles north of New Orleans in the town of Mandeville my dad took these pictures of it. He just got power, More coming. He said he stood watch in the NVGs but didnt wear the gear, He said the NVGs worked great at night with the power out, NVGs are PVS14s also I will ask why he isnt using my holster ( I have a drop leg safariland) and why no scopes etc on the AR. Also I will find out where he got the MREs.....
I fixed the pics, thanks to 2A373 for resizing them, Could everyone else take theirs down so this would look a little less crazy? Thanks- Robert new one added is off dad chainsawing off trees that landed and punched a hole in my aunts house. can see all here: img370.imageshack.us/img_viewer_framed.php?g=nancyshouse4xu.jpg |

I've got a buddy in that town. I can't see your pictures right now (red Xs), but hope everything with your Dad is okay.
Imageshack isn't moving the pics over, but I can see them from their site. Is that your dad? Did he bag any looters?
Even thought the thumbs don't work, do click on them to see the larger pic, pic1 is his dad with a 1911 and an AR15, pic2 is the his dad holding a case of MREs, pic3 is a pic of the destruction, probably near his house.
Tag for the eventual pic fix.
ETA: Can somebody help him with resizing those pics? |
Damn, Ace, he looks more hard corps than you do! Glad they are OK....
Tell your dad his barrell is rusting underneath the fore-end rails. Oh, and he needs optics on top of that flat top rifle.
Glad to see that your family is safe and able to properly defend themselves. |
The apple didnt fall far from the tree I see.
You guys are what make America great. |
Glad to see that they are ok.
So, what paintball gun did you dad strip the DYE sticky grips off for his .45? They are very comfortable grips. Prayers sent out. |
What kind of night vision setup has he got going there?
BTW, he looks like one of the more "well-prepared" people I've seen in the New Orleans area, including the national guard units. LOL. |
Damn dude that's the first thing I thought too |
Needs holster for 1911....and why isn't it cocked and locked? j/k...thanks for sharing
Your dad looks unlikely to be looted or removed from his home
You might have him check out the survival forum for water filter links and instructions on good methods to string up looters with paracord. |
Ace, your dad sure looks like he's ready for some zombie looters.
Does someone sit on his shoulders to see thru the scope?
NICE LARGE PICS THANKS |
Same here, but I wasn't going to say anything. Your dad is to be commended for making preparations beforehand to provide for him and his family, in the event of a disaster. He looks like he's managing just fine. Stay safe! |

If you look at it closely, you'll see that the eyepiece is in front, and seems to be aligned perfectly with his right eye, in the event that it gets flipped down. |
plus NOT cock and locked. Come on Ace get your dad up to speed ETA you and your dad look exactly alike, scary |
Not only not cocked and locked no mag in the AR and it appears no mag in the 1911. |
Not that its a bad idea , guess I'm not up to speed on NV Monoculars and there possibilities. Mean looking Dad . . . maybe thats whey RA turned out so well |
Cmon guys, he is not on post at that moment, he is getting ready to go out and is more posing for the picture, I am sure he loaded the guns when he went out. He didnt wear that gear out to gaurd the neighborhood just for the picture. Ill let him know about the trigger finger thing, he is a really good shot and knows how to work all those guns but wasnt in the military and doesnt shoot all that much so doesnt have that ingrained. |

RA, Stay safe...looks like dad has things under control. Proud American Family
God Bless |
Man guys, he's not putting a dinner pic together (although I DID see some MRE's, heh). I didn't see a napkin or a stapler, either. Ease up on the poor guy. |
I tend to agree, but RA is a badass |
Yep and "Pity the fool............." |
I see where you get your warrior blood from, your father is hard core. I pity the fools that walk through those doors at night.
ETA: I hope the MAN doesn't come for his weapons too. |
does anybody else think his dad looks like warren oates in the pic with the mre's???
