A couple months ago I bought some tools. A fairly dececnt price tag. A couple hours later the credit card company calls asking if I made this purchase. All was good then. Nothing to worry about.

Bank called and asked if I bought some stuff from a debit card. Had many orders from the place before. I think its like quality control from some manufactures , grab one at random to see if the others have problems.

It happened to me, someone from Cali. stole my CC number from an internet purchase some time ago and, bought an $800.00 PC. My CC called and asked me to verify the charge. That was an eye opener.

Visa does it often, most shops will have a sign that says Visa secured or something like that.

I bought my $1900 laptop with my debit card, Visa immeditly froze the account and called me. Cleared it up in 5 mins. I was pretty impressed.

I paid for gas one day on my Visa debit card. For some reason the pay at the pump reader kept rejecting my card, so I had to go inside and have it run there and it worked fine.

The bank locked my card because the first attempted transaction at the actual pump looked suspicious to them. Took 5 minutes on the phone and a WTF from me to get it unlocked. I wish they would've called and asked me what was going on.

My bank shit a brick last month. A bunch of CC numbers were stolen and they were in the process of sending mew cards out (thankyou India) and I tried to buy a new bike for $11,743. Then when my new card came in, I had to go to my branch in person to activate the new card.

"Just like having cash in your pocket" MY ASS!

Same thing happened to me last week.  Bought an MP3 player at Wal Mart at 3AM.  They called that morning.

Never happened in the five years I've had the card, although the company has changed hands twice in the last year.
