Who got the strange idea that air should be pulled up in the summer. Air should be pushed down in the summer and pulled up in the winter. In the summer you wan't the air to be blown with force directly down so that the breeze causes a cooling effect. In the winter you pull air up, which causes circulation, but not a breeze which would cool you off. Up circulates the warm air down to the floor gently, down causes a breeze which cools you off. Its simple thermodynamics, sorry about the rant but I seem to constantly be explaining this to members of my fiancee's family. They just don't get it.
