Not a damn thing would change or happen. Those that tried to resists would be labeled as domestic terrorists. You would be rounded up and made an example of.
Suzie Soccer mom and Joe NASCAR could care less if they were disarmed, as long as it didn’t interrupt there trip to the espresso stand. Or for gods sakes displace there episode of survivor on TV. A bunch of small scale WACOS but the media will portray them like nutjiobs as usual. After a few hundred people die across the nation, it will quiet down, people will turn in their token guns and hide the rest. The American way of life as we knew it will cease to exist. The question you need to ask is how much of the military would defend the Constitution and how many would just blindly follow orders to consficate the guns. I would give my predictiion of the percentages of each service, but dont have my flame-proof suit on.

Yep, from patrolman on the beat, and all the way up the food chain...LOTS of folks will have to make that tough decision...uphold the Constitution, or uphold laws they know to be bogus. Either way, Thomas Jefferson will be right. |

US Military won't be used for this. This scenario will play out after something happens here to prompt the govn. to declare martial law. Our military will be out of the country, (Much like they are now) and the UN will offer to "Help" secure our nation. The soldier that shows up to search you will most likely be wearing a blue helmet. The theory behind using the UN troops is that they will have no problems shooting US citizens. To them, we are just insurgents(sp?). Our troops will be marooned in some foriegn shithole country, and unable to repond. Picture "Red Dawn", except substitute UN troops for the reds. It will all be nice and legal. Thanks to the Patriot act(s)... All it will take to classify any of us as a potential "Terrorist" is the possession of one or more "Military type" firearms. It's not really an "if" situation, more of a "When". This country has pretty much been sold to the highest bidder already. We just have to wait for them to come and take possession... Rich |

criminals would get a bit bolder. probably more occupioed home invasions than now
door to door confiscations would start up using 4473s from gun stores and other forms of registration to get the addresses. At some point one or more of these teams would get a couple of their members killed in an ambush as they entered a house. from that point on the confiscations would likely just turn into intentional house burnings ala Waco or some of the house set on fire more recently by tear gas grenades |

I'm already pissed that I moved back "home" and Kolumbus decided to ban "assault weapons"!!! I have seriously considered moving back to Texas again and I still might. I'm sorry but generally the north sucks compared to the south. |

A couple of decades of the Brady Bunch screaming at the top of their lungs have created a nation full of people who are very skeptical of gun control. It is pretty clear to everybody that criminals don't pay attention to laws. It's pretty clear to everybody that gun laws don't measurably affect the violence level, whether you're talking about CCW or bans. Take your statement about America being too soft, and then apply that to the gun confiscations themselves. Can America watch their friends and family die en masse over some stupid politically motivated law that is obviously NOT intended to control crime? My belief is that America would simply be desperate to stop the killing. |
