Do you have one, are you getting one, planning on it, never gonna happen?

ETA: Kurt's post captured my interest, as many respondents seem to have had one done.

By choice, or by "her choice"?

Never. Only do it if she'll agree to getting her tubes tied so everything's fair.

Naturally sterile,  good thing.

Last thing I want is a lil bastard that was like me.

I never have to worry about getting my sac cut open either.

I think I'd do it if I had a sample saved, chryogenically frozen for later use should the need arise.  Other than that, I'd have to pass.

if you have the desire to save more money for guns or whatever,....you will consider getting it done instead of the wife.
Anesthesia and major hospital/out patient surgery is required for women. LOTS of cash spent there! And recovery time is longer and more painful for women. Which means less nookie for you, and probably more work around the house!
Also, vasectomies have a better record for not coming 'undone' than women's tubal ligations.

Vasectomies are very simple procedures done in the office with no general anesthesia. Only a local is required. You won't feel a thing. Ice pak after for a day or two if done right, and all is well.

Good luck.

Word of Wisdom:  Have yourself checked after having the procedure done !  My MD cancelled my appt. to check sperm count after he did the procedure, b/c he was going out of town.  I never rescheduled.  Later I asked a friend who runs a lab to check to see if it worked and it didn't.  After looking in the microscope, he looks up at me and says" your count is higher than normal"  had

I've had the nut-cut. No big deal. Beats the hell of of rubbers.

Been there, done that.  One child was enough for us.

I highly recommend it for couples that have decided not to have any more children.  It wasn't a big deal at all.  Sex is much better now because the wife doesn't have to worry about becoming prego.  She enjoys the experience much more even though she sometimes complains about getting messier than before.

Had it done as a birthday present for my wife.  She was very pleased & was more than willing to assist with the doctors instructions about post-op use

BTW, the snip job wasn't painful, just slightly uncomfortable.  I've felt worse after leaving the dentist office.

Had it done six years ago.  Wouldn't have it any other way.

The best part is when the nurse washes and shaves your sack for you

Had mine done after my third child was born. It really wasn't a big deal. Not having to worry about getting your wife (or anyone else)  knocked up greatly improves your sex life.

I'm glad I had mine but it was extremely painful.  My nuts felt like they were in a walnut crusher nearly the whole time.

Recovery was unexpectedly painful too.  Just my experience.  I'm not usually a big weenie either

Easily one of the most painful things I've ever had including broken bones.  He used a local.  I think the one valium he gave me before hand had no affect either.

But after watching my wife give birth to two darlings naturally though I didn't really tell her how bad it was.

All these comments from other folks make me wonder if it was supposed to hurt that much.  Ah well, still glad I did it.

Cut 17 years ago. I'd do it again.
