Which I LOVE!!
  Texas was awesome. I really loved it there and can't WAIT to move down there. Afplayboy and I went around looking at houses and land while we were there. His family is awesome. They were so nice....I really don't know why I was so scared to meet them. Lol. Y'all will love Texas!
And it won't take you ten minutes to become a 'real' Texan! Basically, all you need do is to be here and claim to be a Texan! Then, no matter where else you may live in the future, you will always be a Texan! Now, repeat after me, 'I don't care how y'all did it up North, you're in Texas now!' Whenever we move down there, we will be moving to Mabank (45 minutes SE of Dallas). And I already say yall all the time....my mother hates it. |

+1...see above avatar ive grown up in texas all my life and cant wait to get back. joined the military and got stationed up here in VA and just havent had the money or job to get back down there yet. the weather was over 100 degrees every day down there and i loved it...no humidity, just good old dry heat

And a big ol' AMEN to that. Mr . TheHun geve me this sage advice just over a year ago when I made the mistake of mentioning that I'd just moved here and that I didn't think I "qualified" as a Texan. He set me straight right quick and in a hurry. [paraphrased] yer' a gun shootin', right thinkin', god fearin' feller' an' jes' cuz ya' wern't born here, ya got here as fast as ye' could. [/paraphrase]
 I've since learned that, yes, I am a "damned yankee," but, in the words of the elderly gentleman I met leaving church: "we won't hold that against ya'"  Now I just have to make it to a Hun Farm event and avoid TRG's advances, and I'll fit right in.  .
