Well with .357 Mag 10mm, and .44 Mag there really wan no need for .41 IIRC.
ETA: Kind of like .41 AE.
Seems like the .41 is a step up from the .357 I know the .41 was around before the advent of the 10mm and I think it might have arrived just before the .44. It just never took off.
And does anything ending in "AE" become popular?

Purchased new 1978. A great shooter and long time favorite. O_P shoots it from time to time and loves it ! (but then upon reflection, O_P loves all old S&W wheelguns )
