You might have seen this already, as it was all over the Lightfighter.net discussion board at the end of last year. Basically, some stupid ass PFC got an article written in his hometown newspaper about him being the 'youngest Green Beret sniper in the history of the Army'.
He described his rank as 'classified', even though he is clearly wearing E-3 insignia in the photo. The Lightfighter crew completely destroyed this kid, sending the story to his chain of command, calling his family asking why they raised such a dumbass, etc. And now for the pic. Spot as many inaccuracies as you can, from a supposed 10th SFG sniper.

Well, he looks about 19 and appears to be holding a Savage or a Remington.
And I am no military expert but they patch doesn't look right. Sgat1r5 |
He sure does have a real purdy mouth!
BUSTED.......DUMBASS! HS1 |
I want to know what his chain of command did, if anything. More to the point, I want to know what his NCO's did to him.
I'm definitely going to say it's a Browning A-Bolt. |
I'm not in the military, but it looks like he doesn't even know how to hold a gun properly. At least his finger isn't on the trigger.
On his name tag, assume the rifle is covering an S to say "Sabot", is he implying that he is armor piercing too?
That patch and the crest on the beret are from the Brave Rifles....3rd Armored Cavalry. I should know. They are stationed at our base, or were before they deployed to Iraq. The 10th Special Forces Group is also stationed here. BTW, "here" is Ft. Carson, Colorado. More than a few poeple over at the Group compound would be a little upset about this poser purporting to be part of their Group.

The rifle is a Ruger All Weather Lightweight, unknown caliber, but definetley not a snipers choice, I always thought most snipers from the Army were at least taken from the ranks of their veterans, like say specialists or NCO or higher. No rookies need apply type thing. Also, look at his pale white arms, defnetely not something any real sniper has, clean white arms, most ragged abused scuffed arms come from practice, practice, practice getting down and dirty. This kid looks like he barely got into boot camp, let alone a choice job like sniper, MOS 11B1B4

In the early 90's in Norfolk, there was a young guy passing himself off as a Navy SEAL in his hometown rag once upon a time. (also wearing un-earned decorations and BUDWEISER)
He was an engineman third class and had been assigned to a SBU (these guys transport SF in small boats) out of Little Creek amphib base... guess that wasn't enough to feed his ego. His young ass was busted and dishonorably discharged.... So, that is how it ought to turn out. PITSNIPE OUT |

+1 My good buddy's sister is dating and has been dating a guy from the 10th SFG for about 3 years now. Great guy too....currently in Iraq... |
It is abundantly clear the author had NO CLUE about his subject matter. Imagine that.
This guy has apparently made the rounds of all the forums. Funny stuff to read. NorCal |
He's probably very deadly with an X-Box. Or a Game Cube. But that's classified.

Sux to be him!
Why do people always feel the need to try to pass themselves off as someone they are not? Geez. BTW, I was Carlos Hathcock's spotter back in Nam. |
Browning A-Bolt in nice bright shiny SS with cheapo scope without mildot or other ranging knobs
To make matters worse, it turns out his Regimental Commander is Col HR McMasters, who commanded the tank company at the Battle of 73 Easting during the Gulf War. 73 Easting is considered a textbook armor battle, so his commander is a real no-BS warrior. |
Nope, thats a Browning A-Bolt. Look, no 3-posistion safety like the Ruger has. Plus it doesnt have the old Mauser action |
Nice to meet ya Burke, I'm captain Land, and injun_ear over there is the frenchman Carlos killed lol |
You notice how nice and "bling bling" shiny the rifle is.........not hardly something a real sniper would want or use. I agree sarge, I am not that up on SF patches, but the one on his beret doesn't look right. |

Yes. I would like to know also. |
pffffft... i taught Mr hathcock everything he knew when he was my spotter during the civil war. we had in our sights several times but decided to let him live. |
I was going to say the same thing! It is a very accurate rifle but you don't see very many of them in the hands of true snipers that are in the military! BigDozer66 |

Yea we had a couple very small Hispanic butter bars come to Korea while I was there with ranger tabs on. They were real ball breakers and had all the men hating them. One day while in formation the XO and the CC the 2 jackass post in front of the formation and ripped off the ranger tabs and had the MPs arrest them. It was great to watch. Not sure what happen to them but most Rangers are a pretty proud bunch so I would assume that the CC and the XO both combat vets with the Ranger Regi. probably threw the book at them.
I can still remember those 2 jackasses, Ranger this and Ranger that. Bitches! I think this guy should be sent over to 10SFG and be made to wash their fucking drawers and shine their boots until he is dishonorably discharged. Make him his own little special ed force. |
What about 18x? Couldnt they end up there without making Sgt? |
IIRC from the Go Army website a while ago, you went to staff sergeant or NCO acadamy or something to complete SFAS or something to that effect, that's what I remember from researching 18B |

Found this towards the end of the LF thread:
I bet that was a fun day for Chabot. In addition:

I see his career as a gunshow deltaninjaswatrangerseal is off to a good start.
the article uses the phrase "enages targets" sooooooo many times. Is the sniper course for us sf guys really only 5 weeks?
Shame he couldn't be proud just being what he was supposed to be. |
Not enough scars on that boy to have been through any Q courses.
If I remember right... 18x'ers will attend PLDC and BNCOC after SFAS or sometime during the Q course... don't remember exactly. Upon graduating the Q course they become SGTs. |

Too real! So this guy IS real military, but a SF poser? WTF? HAHA! Ben |
That sounds about right, maybe someone could verify that. |
