How many memebers here are single and over 40 with no kids. I am just curious to know what is the ratio per men vs women. Im 40 no kids, single, but am feeling kinda odd since everyone i know is married with kids.

...

... Did a 14 year stint married, no kids. Almost tied the knot again recently, but I find I make a better bachelor than a married man - more control over my life that way.

... Does it get lonesome? Sure, at times - but all-in-all,  am much happier single and without kids. Honestly.

40, single, no kids; no sane woman would ever be stupid enough to marry me.

ETA: Oh, no. Got married way to young. Two kids. Working on the next former Mrs. Bama now.

40, divorced, 1 kid, who lives 300 miles away from me, and I only see once every couple of months.  So, I feel like I'm single and no kids most of the time. I don't plan having any more kids.

+1...Except instead of 14 I did 8. And I learned from my mistake.

I dont get lonesome. I am mucho happy, I come and go as I damn well please, I spend my money the same way, and best of all I have friends in different area codes.

As a teenager I always said "sworn to fun, loyal to none". I still pretty much feel that way. If they made women like my Grandma, I would act like my Grandpa. They dont, so I wont.

36, divorced, no kids, no GF.  Wanna build a house, get more guns, and have a great snow season.  Seams more realistic and fun right now.  Not everyone on this planet has to breed.

Was married, eight year, no kids. Paid my fine and got released.
I'm smart enough not to do that again.

Father of four and Grandfather to six...

Whoops, sorry wrong thread.

But in my defence, my wife of 25 years never made me ask permission to do anything.

So it's been a lot like that

Almost 33, never married, no kids that I am aware of. It gets pretty lonely at times and I burn out on spending money on toys that fill the spot a relationship should be. I've had a few close calls with marriage, but the women I've been seeing end up not being the marrying kind. I like my independance, but this shit is really starting to suck.

42 yrs old and the "Father" of a 19 yr old who'll never know me.

Years ago I agreed to be the sperm-donor (Face-to-face) with a Lady I
worked with in the Oregon State mental-Health system  (She thought I was "Cute").  I was involved with a married Lady at the time so I was feeling pretty magnanimous.

Worst mistake of my life.

I've had more "Girl-Friends" than I could count on EIGHT hands and I've got NO little ones who'd know me from Adam

41, still single ( had a close call in college, but had enough sense to accept good advice - Wait till you finish school. )

No pets or GF as I often work up to 72hrs/wk. It wouldn't be fair to neglect them.

Maybe I'll get married when I retire...

Are we seeing a trend here?

34, married 5 years and divorced.  No kids.  Looking back, I wasted roughly $53k in those five years.  If I had saved it and stayed single, I would be much better off.  In return for that investment, I got held at arm's length, starting the day after the wedding and going downhill from there.  If I was lucky, I got treated good only when she wanted something expensive, and my birthday.  I spent all summer looking forward to a half hearted BJ.  Yay!  On the other side of the coin, I wasn't real easy to live with.  You would be an asshole too if you spent five years begging for a piece of ass and wondering what your the hell wife's problem is (she wouldn't talk about it other than to claim various infractions on my part).

Apparently, this phenomenon isn't rare either.

So, nowadays, I have a GF, the status of our relationship has varied back and forth over the last year due to my reluctance to get hitched.  We are "dating" now, after splitting up for awhile.

For whatever reason, "companionship opportunities" with various women have been plentiful.  However, most women seem shallow, shaky, with dubious levels of intelligence and full of underhanded motivations.  I choose instead to just hang out with my GF when I want female companionship, which isn;t as often as she would like.  Like many women, she likes to talk a lot and that sometimes gets on my nerves something fierce.  However, she does have a lot of good qualities that are rare in most women.  I am glad she (usually!!) puts up with me.

Otherwise, I am happy working, hanging out at my place with my dawg doing whatever the heck I want to, traveling a bit to visit my brother and friends, cleaning my own house, and doing a lot of shooting.

48, single, have a 6 yr old son I have full custody of.

Married at 18, divorced at 20. Asked 2 other women in my life, but got no for answers from both. A couple of live in G/F's along the way, including my son's Mother.
She is "location unknown" and has made no attempt to contact him since 2000.

38. Never Married, no kids.

I basically raised my 2 younger brothers, so I have NO urge to sentence myself to Crying Baby/Poopy Diaper Hell. Been there, done that.

My sisters and brothers do enough breeding and divorcing.......... no need for me to add to it.
