Through me the way into the suffering city,
Through me the way to eternal pain,
Through me the way that runs among the lost,
Justice urged on my high artificer,
My maker was Divine Authority,
The highest wisdom, and the primal love
Before me nothing but eternal things,
were made, and I endure eternally
ABANDON EVERY HOPE, WHO ENTER HERE

Dante Alighieri, The Divine Comedy

Woe to you corrupt souls! Forget your hope or ever seeing heaven I come to lead you to the other shore, to eternal dark, to fire and frost.

You really think that belongs in the religious forum?
Arnt there enough fights in that forum without introducing fiction.  Once fiction is introduced into that forum god help us all because most of us are to stubborn to help ourselves

Actually it's just called "Comedia"  The Divine part was not added by Dante
but later by Giovanni Boccaccio, an Italian poet.

Kinda funny test to see where you end up on the levels of hell, and who
will be there with you.

Thats forum has less fights than GD and the pit.

I say its a good subject for the religion sections as there are many who actually think that literature is Christian theology, when it isnt. The religion forum is a great place for folks to ask questions and learn of other beliefs. I know there are many here who avoid it like the plague for personal reasons or dont see it as an opportunity from God to speak the truth ofd their religious leanings.

I am honestly surprised it was not moved there yet.

Woot!

Fifth Level of Hell

The river Styx runs through this level of Hell, and in it are punished the wrathful and the gloomy. The former are forever lashing out at each other in anger, furious and naked, tearing each other piecemeal with their teeth. The latter are gurgling in the black mud, slothful and sullen, withdrawn from the world. Their lamentations bubble to the surface as they try to repeat a doleful hymn, though with unbroken words they cannot say it. Because you lived a cruel, vindictive and hateful life, you meet your fate in the Styx.

I looked it up, name of it was The Gates of Hell. They guarded it to keep them in hell I believe. I haven't seen it in 20 years.

WooHoo

Sixth Level of Hell - The City of Dis

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You approach Satan's wretched city where you behold a wide plain surrounded by iron walls. Before you are fields full of distress and torment terrible. Burning tombs are littered about the landscape. Inside these flaming sepulchers suffer the heretics, failing to believe in God and the afterlife, who make themselves audible by doleful sighs. You will join the wicked that lie here, and will be offered no respite. The three infernal Furies stained with blood, with limbs of women and hair of serpents, dwell in this circle of Hell.

I made it to Purgatory.

Crap.  Pride just made me drop a level.

Dammit.  Anger just sent me lower.

Now it's down another level for cursing.

Guess that puts me on the 5th level, huh?
