I want one but want to wait a little longer for prices to drop.

Yeah, except for the "Add something to bring original total to over $500" part.

And thats the beauty of this deal.  The monitor is $479 originally.  You add a $23 dollar spindle of CDRs and you are over $500.  Then the other CODE kicks in giving you another $60 off the 43%.  Then the total is around $235.

Do the math again and you will that this deal is pretty good for a flat LCD screen.

I agree, what do we buy that isnt cobbled together by some slave labor in China, repackaged into a brand name box and logos and shipped here?  Even Chevy and Ford do that.  Honda, Toyota and BMW have gone the other way and make stuff here.  WHich companies are doing better?

Whats interesting is that these sell on ebay for more!  There are professional dudes that basically act as middlemen and order these Dell products for the uninformed.  So the buyer thinks they are saving money and the middleman takes the difference between the cost and the discounted price.

Dell is catching on because they limited this offer to only 5 monitors.  The coupon doesnt work after that.  But I guess nothing stops you from ordering 5 more separately.

IF you want to haggle and speak to some people in India, call Dell small business sales and ask for the bottom line.  They will sell it to you for $229.  You have to force the issue and for some the $5-6 savings will not be worth it.

I probably have to pay TX sales tax on it.

I wonder if they have will call for the locals.

Good deal - got in on one. It's generating lots of traffic on fatwallet - after all of those "Ebay capitalists", let's see when Dell actually ships the monitor...

I have no problem with them. If they get in on the deal early, more props to them. I'm only bitchin' because they've probably depleted Dell's on-hand stock and I'll have to wait a few weeks (yeah, I'm impatient), but I have nothing against them trying to make a buck.

Personally, I can think of better ways to make money. Of one listing I've seen (cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5223864722) the profit isn't worth the time and money it takes to buy the monitors, pay E-bay fees, relabel them, ship them out and deal with any hassles of buyers with DOA monitors or complaining of dead pixels.

I think its a fabulous idea.  You make money and have NOTHING in stock.  Dell stocks and ships it for you.  What better business plan then that?  You have to do the leg work to get it onto the ebay site and thats about it.  The only bad thing is that there is MUCHO competition already.  If there is money to be made there will be people there already.  If I could sit at home make as much money as I do now I would do it.

You called them what they are and you said nothing bad about them.  What will happen is that DELL will cancel your order when they run out.  Its happened to me and others. But there will always be another sale if you wait long enough.

Dang, you guys are too fast on the replies.... Couldn't even get my edits in.

FWIW, I got an order confirmation that estimates the ship date as Aug 01. So I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Mine showed up this morning as well. Had it shipped to work and there happened to be a 23" LCD monitor sitting right next to mine in the receiving bay ... you think anybody would have noticed if I switched shipping labels?

The LCD panels themselves should be either BenQ or LG. Other internals should be okay also.

Anyone else have Dell Coupon Codes?  I got one for $35 off a $300+ home user purchase:

SNZGX48MK6QLMD

My hospital may buy me a PDA (within a limited budget--rather have the cash, but might as well use what they are offering, and the more Coupons I can get, the better off I will be).

Thanks!!
