I'll try this here:

Do you use / or prefer Factory OEM mags or are Novak's dependable (quality?) ?

Please explain :

I use the used Sig magazines from CDNN.

The Pro-mag 8 rounders suck.  I one once before it stopped working.

They are both good... The Novak's are GTG.

I have the Novaks and the Sig factory mags, and both have worked flawlessly for me so far.

Only use factory mags. Never had a single failure to feed.

Just bought a P220 (used), love it!
I have 4 of the factory 7 rounders, but I have 4 Novak 8 rounders on order.
I'll let you know how they function.

Ditto.

And glad to hear about the 245...I am thinking thats a summer purchase

BTW, not trying to highjack this thread...but, my 220 is an older one with the fixed front sight.  Any suggestions for putting night sights on it?

Never had a problem with factory mags.
Pro-Mag magazines have been nothing but trouble (8 and 10 round mags).
MecGar 7 round mags have always worked well.
ActMag (supposedly used to be MecGar) 8 round mags have worked flawlessly so far (2-3 months).
Never tried Novaks.

I just bought 4 act/Novaks for my p220, and ran rounds through them without any problems whatsoever.  they were 19 bucks instead of the 35-40 that SIG mags usually go for, and though these are nickel plated steel instead of stainless, I fail to see how that will make a difference.
Bought them online from Copes distributing.

Now if i could just shoot worth a shit with my SIG...master in service rifle across-the-course and long-range, but I shoot with a pistol about like old people fuck.

I have a P220ST and a few Novaks. I've put about 300 rounds through 3 Novaks and never had a malfunction. Normally I never buy aftermarket mags, but I bought this P220ST used and it came with the 3 Novaks. The Novaks look equal in quality to the factory Sig mags. However, if it's for personal protection, I would only rely on factory mags for that, as you never really know what shortcuts aftermarket mag companies take.

One note: I believe the Sig 1911 .45 (GST?) comes with a Novak mag, so Sig must trust them pretty good.

I have only factory mags. They have been flawless so far. Others may be good too, but I haven't used any of them.

I carry a P220 every day. I have a Novak stuffed in the shute and 2 factory 8 rounders on standby.

I trust the Novaks as I have shot somewhere around 800 rounds with it and the factory mags without fail. I also did my last CCW qual with it.

I trust it. Plan to get more.

I wish they would have used 1911 mags. I have tons of those.

In 8,000 rounds my P-220ST has fired, I've used both the Novak Act Mags and Sig factory mags.  They all perform flawlessly.  If it were me, and I needed some more mags, but didnt have much moula, I'd go with the Novak Act Mags in a heartbeat.  If money was not a problem, I'd still go with the Novaks.

New P-220s will be coming with Novak Act Mags as standard.

I have a P220 with 2 factory 8 rd mags and 4 Act/Novak (2 nickel, 2 blued) 8 rd mags.  Unlike many aftermarket mags, I think the Novaks look & feel virtually identical to the factory except for finish.

I have never had any problems with my Novaks after hundreds of rounds.  In fact, my two Sigs are a couple of the very few pistols I own that I have never had any problem with.

That being said, I still keep the factory mags loaded with defensive ammo and use the Novaks for the range.

Sig Factory - best
Novak/MecGar - second best
Pro-Mag - Throw your money away, it'll be better in the end.

But this is just my experience with the P245.

I've still got a P220 on the list.

My factory mags won't drop free, has to do with their finish I think.  Novak mags are shiny and smooth, no problems after hundreds of rounds
