OK, so I consider myself to be a semi competent hunter. I know that this knife blade is used to "unzip" an animal's gut/hide/whatever to clean him up in the field.


So what is this blade used for? It's not a sharp "zipper" type blade but rather a dull hook. It's usually referred to as an upland knife. School me.

Looks like a bird knife, the hook is used to pull the innards out of the body cavity.
