If there was no military it would be close. Doesnt the north have more people? I would bet there is an even number of guns in both. And an even number of gun manufacturing companies in both too.

If we're talking about a fight between just the people of the South vs. the people of the North, with no military involved (other than uniformed military folk who went home to their respective states to fight), the North gets its clock cleaned.

Again, no air power, no navy, just land units and people taking up arms: The South wins handily.

Why would we want to kick the Norths ass? We would then have to rebuild it.. Oh and BTW it's waaaaay too cold for us Texans. We just spend 1 week in CO or NM to ski, any longer than a week and our women get fridgid

Agreed. And if you added in military just fighting with small arms, the South would also easily win. I can't comment on if you added in airpower b/c I don't know how that is divided up geographically.
