Went to my first gunshow today, a dealer told me that FN only makes rifles for the military. I thought Colt did.

I have never seen an FN m16 issued by our Army, all the A4's my unit got issued are from hartford conn. I have friends in other units, same story |

I thought delta force were the only ones aloud to use colt and all the other branches of the military had either hesse or professional ordinance?

FN makes the M16 A2 and A4, M240, M249, Mk48 Mod.0 (new version of the M60)
M2 is manufactured in USA by RAMO Defense, General Dynamics, in Belgium - by FN Herstal and by many other compabies. Saco Defense Industries manufactures the MK19 GMG. Colt makes the M4. I think I got all that right after a bit of Googling. |

What you are seeing is a lot of old Colts still in the system. FN supplies the M16's when the .gov actually buys them NEW. M16's, over the years, have come from a number of manufacturers but the sole manufacturer now is FN. |

Yeah, another one told me he was on a "Tac team, ex SF operator, stole his rifle from the SF" all while waving a .45 around so I could see down the bore.  I don't think I will be visiting any other gunshows, except if I don't talk to the dealers. |
