Does that mean that the repeal of the 3X law passed, or that it failed?

How exactly does the three strikes law work?
Is it just 3 felonies = life in prison? If so then I dont really support it. Or is it just for the more severe felonies? Like for example if someone commits 3 murders and somehow managed to get less than life or the death penalty for for the first 2 then yeah the third should be automatically life if the jury doesnt give him the death penalty. |

passed...but it's not a repeal. The judges have more say on whether the person should get 25 to life. |

California Prop 66 would have weakened our existing 3 strike law. It would have given consideration to the...feloniousness....of the 2nd and 3rd felonies.
It's looking well and defeated. EDIT: WHAT?! I must be looking at the wrong site.

CA - Proposition 66 - Tones down Three Strikes Law to deal only with serious crimes. 59% Precincts Reporting No - 2,866,317 (50%) Yes - 2,814,234 (50%) Pretty close. |

Two things. The prop was initiated and bankrolled by a millionare whos son is in for 3 strikes. Add to that the urban legend of the guy who gets put away for 25-life for stealing a donut and the sheeple bleat. CW |

I think many felonies are serious crimes, however I would not say all felonies are serious crimes. Its good that they changed it. |

Why does everybody forget about the two previous violent felonies that were committed prior to the last "minor" crime. A word to the wise, if you have two violent felonies, don't steal pizza from a little kid. And the last I looked, this proposition is being rejected by about 1.5%, hopefully it stays that way. |
