..but, it was emtpy

Here are some pics:

Looks like they took a breaker bar to it.

I wouldn't trust my guns to one of these. The perps probably just caried it off, which woudln't happen to a big safe, and had their way with it out, and the guns, in the dessert.

damn!

I have one, but not much is in it.  Most everything is in my big safe.

Good for keeping unauthorized little hands away from your weapons, but that's about it.

They prolly just upgraded safes and took that one for target practice. I like mine for ammo, thats it.

I use one to store all my .50 cans in that have ammo in them. That's about all they're worth.

I have a Homak.  I spell it D-E-C-O-Y.  Nuthin' special in it.  The nice toys are in the Liberty.

With how its ripped open near the locks and on the back, I'd say robbery.

I have thought about getting one of those to keep soem inexpensive guns in, to make room in my safe. Do you think they would work good as a decoy? Something a lot easier to get into might tempt a scumbag away from the grand prize(s) in the real safe as I see it, but then, I'm not sure how they think.

You can see the two areas at the door edges where they went to work with tools.  I have one too and those are the spots where the metal bar comes down to lock the door.  Mine is also a decoy.  Leave the SKS and the 10/22 in there.

Mine weighs 3,400 lbs for the same reason

I've got one.

Got it for my first apt, which was on the 2nd floor and no good way to get anything better up there.

Now its just used for ammo storage.

ETA:  when I moved out of that apt, I left everything in the HOMAK, stuffed clothes around the toys, closed it, locked it, and then just picked it up in a bear-hug and walked out of the apt, down the stairs, out the building door, across the parking lot, up the ramp into the uhaul, and wasn't even winded.....if I can do that, they're not much of a deterrent to anyone wanting your gunz.

This could have been done by the owner - I have one of these, and one of the 2 el-cheapo cylinder type locks broke, the I could not access my guns! I got pissed off, went to my toolbox and got my largest Craftsman screwdriver/prybar an within about 4 minutes I was inside. I since have purchased a Liberty and after a patch job and 45 bucks for a replacement lock, mine now is also a decoy with only a lone Remington Nylon 66 and a few rounds of .22 ammo inside.

I got a couple, they are bolted to the wall and floor, and to each other.

Not to mention the pitbull with aids I have.

I have often thought that one of these, filled with a suitable load of "Guns"(Blocks or metal pipe) and left "Stealable" as the "Decoy" safe, would be a good thing. The average thief is looking to get what he can, as soon as he can. If he thinks that he's got a safe with guns in it, he might just beat feet with it instead.

Just a Thought.
YMMV
