I had to write our company's anti-gun policy. I am the Human Resources Manager. After I wrote the policy I included the prase. .........no person shall illegally carry or display a firearm or knife on company property............" I thought that would keep it open enough for legal concealled carry.

I sent it to the lawyers and they removed the term "illegal" from the handbook. I had contemplated using a SMART CARRY device, but decieded not to carry at all at work.

I keep a 1911a1 in my trunk however on the days I have to fire people........ just in case they go off the deep end.

I go through a vehicular search as soon as I leave the highway, and not only go through a metal detector, but an explosives sniffer (and that's not all) before I can enter the building.  We had a sr. VP that packed, but he was exempt because he was a company officer.  At another one of the company offices, a push of a button at the receptionist desk would lock the building down, disable the elevators, then magnetically seal all entrances that lead up to executive row.  There was a secondary button located elsewhere in the building if the bulletproof glass in the lobby was defeated and the receptionist was shot before she could respond.  I work in IT.  I not only hide behind two sets of keycarded doors, but I can climb under the raised floor to disappear.

I work at a nuclear power facility and its design engineering offices.  Today a new  search policy takes effect where you are asked to leave and walk away from your vehicle while the security officers do a more detailed search and underbody check.  This is a random check, and it's only the start to what the NRC is asking of plants in order to keep their operating licenses.
