I can only think of David Bowie.

A gallery in New York was featuring a previously unknown artist... his work that was attracting the most attention was of three black men in coveralls with their penises out, but strangely enough, the one in the middle had a white dick.

A confused visitor asked the curator about it.

"Well, I'm not really sure, but I think it's a representation of how white America has emasculated the black man."

A rather yokelish fellow pipes in and says, "'scuse me, but that ain't what it's 'bout."

The curator is getting pissed at the hillbilly. "Sir, do you presume to know more about art than me?"

"Well, no, sir, but just so happens as I'm the artist being featured here and I painted that particular work. See, it's just three West Virginia coal-miners from my hometown relaxing at the end of their lunchbreak. The thing is, the one in the middle went home for lunch."

My former boss. It's not my cup of tea, but they're both great people and seem to be happy after 17/18 years of marriage. To each their own...isn't freedom great?

Let me tell ya what led to this post- other than curiousity..
I work in a ED with a particular trauma doc. She's in her late 30's, a super person, smart as hell, divorced and Black.

We chat quite a bit about social issues.

I'm a conservative, NRA life member, Marine '68-72, fairly well educated "redneck".... And we get along famously!!

Other day, we were discussing marriage (I've had the same,lovely- lady for 32 years). She lamented that she could not find a decent/successful Black man to date, much less marry. "If they're not already married, they are chasing WHITE MEAT." Her quote- kinda shocked me!

She continued. Said she was not interested in marrying, "out of her race." And she cited a number of Black men who were,or had been, married to "light-skinned" (her words, again) women.

Sidney Poitier
James Earl Jones
Richard Pryor
Sammie Davis Jr.
Clarence Thomas
Etc.

I mentioned something about the possibility of marrying / dating someone a little younger and "on his way up the ranks." She immediately became angry for the first time..
She spouted facts and figures on the STD rates of young __________ and their morals and sexual behavior.

I should have known better than to have mentioned that. We treat a lot of "bangers" and she is pretty rough on them.

So that's it. Her comments just got me to thinking....
