12 gauge shotgun is the best weapon for CQZK (Close Quarters Zombie Killing):

Case closed.

Edit:

You can totally tell the second one used blue screen.

Good job!  Nothing like a head blown off by a 12 gauge.

Bump.

Can we get a tack?  I think everyone needs to know this for when the zombies attack.

That's very realistic looking.  Cool stuff.

I guess nobody likes zombie talk anymore.

I remember when almost every other thread was about zombies.

I prefer .308 vs. zombies but a streetsweeper would be cool to use.

I have a typo zombie. He lives in my keyboard and lives off all the crumbs that fall into it when i eat over my keyboard. He causes all my typos

It was innovative at first, but I think the zombie genre is getting a little tired.

12 guage is definetely the weapon of choice for a zombie attack.  By the way, if you are going to be around my area during halloween don't shoot me, I'm a zombie.  I have a 3D bullet wound to the head.  Is that wrong?  I mean, how could a zombie have a bullet wound in the head, that's how you KILL zombies, right?  If the head is a bad place please tell me where the bullet hole should be.  the hole is made of scar skin to give it that realistic 3D look, black inside the hole to give it more depth, bruise around the area of the hole, and blood trickling out.

Upon looking at the second clip, you can tell it's SFX because of the way the eyeball remains intact.  It's a cool idea for a camera shot, show a head catching the edge of the birdshot blast instead of the full shot like the first.  But the eyeball would have been blown apart in a real shot.

Yeah, when I first saw it, I was like "wtf, why is that eyeball still there?"

I dont know, maybe the gunshot wound to the head was how the person died before they became a zombie.

You got it.

Whenever you make things like this, the first priority is: does it look cool? The second: is it realistic enough to suspend disbelief? If you switch the order of those priorities too much, you'll f*ck it up.

A great example of this was a shot in "Deep Rising" a few years back, when a partially digested dude got dumped from the innards of a giant sea-monster - still alive. Worth a rental for that shot alone.

Negative, I had a striker12...total POS!   I'd definitely prefer a 14.5 M4 with a Beta C and 77gr OTM and an Eotech.   Perhaps an MP5SD when you prefer not to attract more of them.  It might also be nice to have a bradley or abrams to commute in, it's nice to be able to sleep without worry about becoming zombie chow.

Dad had one and your right POS. However that Ladys Streetsweeper, the one in 45/70 would be a fun ticket!

Just so long as it actually goes bang more than click....my striker would reliably fire 7 out of 12.  Funny thing was it wouldnt be the same chamber all the time....     I think the producers of the next zombie flick should visit arfcom before filming....imagine how much more fun DOTD would have been with a shop full of black rifles...

Shotgun, my ass.

What if you had to bug out of your hidey hole? How are you going to carry a suitable amount of ammunition with you to hold back the hordes?

What if you're in a room rapidly filling with zombies and noplace to run?

Screw a shotgun with a 5-8 round capacity. Same goes for a pistola, magnum or not.

Gimme an M4, Beta C and a TA31. Then I'd have a fighting chance.

I've given this way too much thought.

Nonsense, AK or AR with a full size 9mm for backup.  Ammo capacity is key.  Zombies are already decomposing, they don't need a super hot round to take them down.

As a person who beat the original Resident Evil back in 97 in less than two hours, I can tell you without a doubt that 12Ga is not the ideal zombie killing caliber, while it is good for general purpose zombie needs, if it has to die on teh first shot the only way to go is .357 Magnum. Trust me, I have watched all of the historical records (like day of the dead and stuff), and participated in all of the realistic training enviorments (Resident Evil, Silent Hill), and a Magnum handgun is the ultimate one shot zombie killer.

The ultimate anti-zombie weapon is the flame thrower.

The shotgun blowing off the head is useful, as then the zombie cannot see. And with no useable mouth, they cannot eat your brains.

The remake not the original better version.

After running my Mossie thru a few boxes of buckshot this weekend I have to agree that 12gauge for ZOMBIES is good medicine!

I'd have to zay an M4/beta-c/acog, G17 with +2 full capacity mags, and a pistol-gripped 12-guage strapped across your pack for backup.

That way, if the AR fails, you have something besides the pistol, and if you come across a survivor who isn't gun-savvy, the shotty would be a hand-out.
