I think it was ABC, they said their "fact checkers" would analyze all the comments last night, after the debate. Kerry lied again when he said AK-47's are widely available again, and that police officers all over the country are pleading with him to stop it. Or something to that effect. A bold faced lie during a national debate. How much you wanna bet, it never comes up during the revelation of the "facts".

Kerry and facts seldom agree and no one, especially the press, is going to call him on it. And by the way, I'm a police and I haven't been pleading with him for anything. Neither have any officers I know. This is the same kind of remark he made when he said other world leaders wanted Bush out of the White House. He couldn't name any, but he said it just like it was true. I went to his website to tell him just that, but there is only a section for donations. He doesn't want to hear what you think. He only wants your money.

He'd lie if the truth fit better.

KERRY: I believe it was a failure of presidential leadership not to reauthorize the assault weapons ban.

I am a hunter. I'm a gun owner. I've been a hunter since I was a kid, 12, 13 years old. And I respect the Second Amendment and I will not tamper with the Second Amendment.

But I'll tell you this.

I'm also a former law enforcement officer. I ran one of the largest district attorney's offices in America, one of the 10 largest. I put people behind bars for the rest of their life. I've broken up organized crime. I know something about prosecuting.

And most of the law enforcement agencies in America wanted that assault weapons ban. They don't want to go into a drug bust and be facing an AK-47.

I was hunting in Iowa last year with a sheriff from one of the counties there, and he pointed to a house in back of us, and said, "See the house over? We just did a drug bust a week earlier, and the guy we arrested had an AK-47 lying on the bed right beside him."

Because of the president's decision, today, law enforcement officers will walk into a place that will be more dangerous.

Terrorists can now come into America and go to a gun show and, without even a background check, buy an assault weapon today.

And that's what Osama bin Laden's handbook said, because we captured it in Afghanistan. It encouraged them to do it.

So I believe America's less safe.

If Tom DeLay or someone in the House said to me, "Sorry, we don't have the votes," I'd have said, "Then we're going to have a fight."

And I'd have taken it out to the country and I'd have had every law enforcement officer in the country visit those congressmen. We'd have won what Bill Clinton won.

I tried to find an E-mail list of the editors at ABC's web site and couldn't find any. Iwas gonna ask the same question to them, that I asked here but to no avail. I guess they don't want to know what we think either.

But I also believe that because we are the United States of America, we're a country with a great, unbelievable Constitution, with rights that we afford people, that you can't discriminate in the workplace. You can't discriminate in the rights that you afford people.

Now this was part of sKerrys answer on the gay marriage question. Am I misunderstanding him when he says "you can't discriminate in the rights that you afford people" to mean it's ok to not discriminate when it comes to gay marriage, but his answer on the assualt weapons ban clearly discriminates against law abiding citizens.
I seen this as a blunder on his part and wondered if anyone else caught that besides me and MrGH?

Kerry made many statements that show his true socialist colors last night. This was one of them. Notice he said "rights that you afford people", that is he believe that he is the source of your rights. IMO he really sunk himself when he said he disagreed with Greenspan. Nobody disagrees with Greenspan.

Oddly enough, the idea of armed terrorists in our country that could strike anywhere sounds like a perfect excuse for EVERYONE in the US to carry. If you don't know where they are going to strike, it only makes sense to have as many armed civilians around as you possibly can. Imagine them trying a Beslan where most of the teachers, administrators, and parents dropping their kids off are ARMED.

I didn't watch the debates. I tried. But I came very close to shooting my TV set during the first one. The only thing that coulda got me to watch them was if Bush started each debate by walking up and smacking the fuck out of Kerry instead of shaking his hand.
