I just got back from Iraq a couple weeks ago. AKs were 50-75 bucks a piece. $150 bucks would buy you a new one. About $300 bucks would buy you a Krinkov.

Asshole Kerry just said that any terrorist could now go into a gun show and buy an assault weapon without a background check.
1. I dont know what gunshows that asshole has been to but every gunshow I have been to where I bought a gun I had to go through the paces just like at a gun store as usual. 2. What changed? Now they can get em? They could get em before the sunset providing they could 1. get into the US, 2. pass the background check and 3. foot the bill. 3. Why in the hell would a terrorist buy a semi auto weapon in the US for hundreds if not thousands of dollars when they can get a full auto version in their own home town for pennies on the dollar, no questions asked? And kerry's flip flopping again. Last time he said that we should treat terrorists as only an ANNOYANCE and not a real threat. As if turning our backs on a hurricane will make it go away. Now he is saying that we need to go to extremem measures to get the terrorists and capture OBL. so which is it John?

For what it is worth, I bought 3 guns at gun shows this year, and the seller did a NICS check in each of the 3 instances. Maybe in a parallel universe a terrorist can go into a gun show a buy a gun without a background check, but not in this one! |

I think some of you didnt hear what Bush said so clearly. The way I heard it was that he said he supported the AWB but he went with the overwhelming judgement of both partys to let it die. He said we need to enforce current laws by punishing criminals who use guns not make more laws.
kerry said hes always been a big supporter of the 2nd ammendment and has been a hunter since just a boy but "assault weapons" need to be banned if were to protect out officers from getting shot at with AK47's. He's targeting his union base who a large portion I believe think the 2nd ammendment refers to "deer huntin" and "duck huntin". |
