Who the fuck are these livejournal asstards? They've gone and pissed me off. I dont mind 1 or 2 links to my files, thats why there up. But when like 5 people from the same fucking site link to my shit without me having approved it I get a touch mad.
So, if anyone starts seeing broken images in my posts let me know. All gun related websites I frequent have full permission to burn up my bandwidth on a daily basis. So you guys hotlink away.
But these livejournal asses? Fuck man, after looking at the websites I'm like who the fuck are these people?
Let me give you an example

Asstard 1
Asstard 2
Asstard 3
Asstard 4

Fuckin crazy kids these days.

Do this:

Replace the pics that have been linked to that ridiculous site.

Install new pics that are truly VILE and a sure violation of that site's rules.

Give them the same title and location, of course.

There was a big huff a while ago because a bunch of people were linking directly to this guy's website on a forum.

He wrote a script so that whenever those pictures were called from that forum, it would grab a random image from a directory filled with gross stuff (asian shit porn, etc)...

funny!

Not so. I can pull up those records of access's in about 30 seconds from the time I sit down. Its what you have to do if you want to run a streamlined website. Foruntately, mine is just a simple file directory with nifty files so I dont have the problems some sites have. But try running a true, large photo gallery and you'll have bandwidth being sucked on a massive scale if you dont pay attention.

One of the big files they were linking to was Rockfish, a CGI film I had saved. Its the second biggest file I have at 60 some meg. Now, if only 10 people view it thats 600 meg. I only have 5 gig bandwidth. If *I* post it I expect my bandwidth to run out. No big deal. When some little asstard raver who I dont even KNOW OF links to it, I kinda have a problem. Like I said, boards I frequent I dont give a damn, I consider it for the community. Thats WHY i have a website. Its when websites I havent even ever HEARD of start linking I get a bit miffed.

On a side note, anyone know what ar15.com uses for bandwidth a month? i bet its a fuckton!

This is the World-Wide Web, in case you hadn't noticed.  You're supposed to link to things!

THey might just be kids who don't know better. Send them a message telling them to stop hotlinking.

I remember when Dennis Kucinich's website linked to a picture the NRA logo a student RKBA site. They replaced the logo with a message that read "Dennis Kucinich is a pussy".

That's not really true.  Even if I offer my images for the public to use as they wish you don't have a right to use my bandwidth to display images on your site.  Look at your own ISP's TOS and I bet there will be something about linking to content from another site without the owner's permission.

No matter, it is simply considered good manners to ask permission before displaying content originating elsewhere on your own site.

It may still be somewhat improper but I will grab any images I want to use on my website or here and display them locally (my machine with my bandwidth) so as not to abuse someone else's bandwidth.

One time I noticed a bunch of hits on my site originating from Live Journal for a picture of a Christmas tree I had.  I went to the site and found someone was using my picture of my Christmas tree and writing that it was a picture of their own tree.  The site wasn't getting alot of traffic and the person seemed rather pathetic so I left it alone.

On another case however someone in Japan used one of my images on a site generating over 8000 hits on my site.  I discovered it after coming home from work in the evening and it had already sucked about 1.2GB of bandwidth from my site.  THAT one I stopped cold by renaming the image.  Really pissed me off.
