Besides your family jewels (which, no doubt are priceless) ?

For me, its a HUGE diamond worth about 320k USD. Heart shaped, white diamond, good clarity, cut, etc.

Held it in Thailand. My dads friends cousin owns a jewellery shop there and its Uber. He won some Uber jewellery prize or something. The thing he made to win it was this bracelet made with BLACK gold and had one pretty damn big diamond in it.

He had ivory everywhere (his dad collected it). Damn rich guy, but nice too!

A mens diamond ring that had at least 50 diamonds on it. I thought it was ugly as heck, but the fact it had a $35,000 price tag on it made it cool to hold.

A cashiers check for $2.8 (or was it $2.6?) million dollars made out to my brother-in-law. That's the most valuable thing I've ever held.

As far as the most expensive thing, probably a four carat diamond. No idea what the value was, but I'm sure it was a lot.

Priceless artifacts from a museum of ancient Chinese relics while giving
tours. Jade carvings and such that were hundreds and thousand year old
treasures. Can't give monetary value though.

Not sure which was more expensive, but it was either a transmitter for an APG-68 fire control radar (F16) or a Space Shuttle MTU (Master Timing Unit) when I worked at Westinghouse. Either cost well over a million dollars at the time, probably a lot more.

repub18, not with me. He did finally buy my sister the Corvette she always wanted. He got the money after selling his business. He took the next year off and spent the time scuba diving all over the world. Funny thing is he's a cheap bastard. He really wants an AR-15 but wants me to build him one for cheap. When I quoted him prices as low as $650, he offered to buy my mini-14 instead. A guy with over $2 million in the bank and he balked at a $650 AR. At least I'm rid of the mini now.

I was given a private tour of the Bureau of Engraving plant just north of Fort Worth. I was allowed to look into the huge vault. It was full of steel pallet racking and pallets of brand spanking new money. Because none of the bills were bigger than a $20, I was able to cast my eyes on a mere $6 BILLION. The money was too big to hold; I had a bit of a problem holding my bowels when they told me how much was there. Also, there were those guys with the H&Ks.

outside of touchy-feely answers, and the fact that you can't really hold any multi-million dollar aircraft in your hand and carry it around, my answer would have to be:

the keys to the arms room.

racks and racks of M16's, 1911A1's, M60's, M203's and cases of assorted NV devices (for personel, personal and crewserved weapons).

now, there may be a trump card in carrying comsec devices, those can get pretty pricey

That I have been in? My house, we're paying off a value of about 250,000 dollars, but it's now worth about 450,000.

I had the exact same notion. And they weren't payable to me either. By my company I meant my employer.

Well, when I was dating the succubus, she had family in the diamond business. We visited her cousin, a diamond broker (who supplies the Tiffany diamonds), in the diamond district in New York City. So he shows us into this little non-descript office on the second floor, and pushes a code into the wall. Well, a bookcase swings open and there's a "room" that is essentially a huge vault, complete with an armed security guard (looked to me like a F.A. Uzi). We go into the "room" and it is locked behind us. Then the guy pulls out a shoe-box sized tray full of cut diamonds in the 'paper wrap' -- and hands it to me. For shits and giggles, I asked the question. He said I was holding roughly 500 diamonds of varying sizes, but all graded VSI or better with an aggregate retail value of over 10 million dollars. And he had three more boxes like that in the safe. It was surreal. Pretty fucking expensive rocks.
