ok, before you all jump on the band wagon and tell me Firefox (min cpu- p266), I have a p133 notebook running 98se (48mb ram) that I'm looking to replace IE 6.0 with something not so memory hog-ish.

If I didn't need my MS money and Garmin Forerunner software, I'd probably go with linux.

so, until I can get a new notebook, what can you recommend to help ease the burden of this old, yet reliable notebook?

Just about anything new worth having, is going to be a resource hog.
BTW, I use Mozilla Firefox. It's great.

Tired of browsers that are resource hogs? Tired of patching your machine daily because of Microsoft's insecure browser?

WELL MY FRIEND, LOOK NO FURTHER!

Opera minimum system requirements is a 166MHz for the java version, make sure you get the non-java version. You can also try something like this:
Off By One

But you will not get some of the bells and whistles of bloated browsers like Mozilla and IE.

Mozilla Firefox DOES NOT work for editing MSN website pages.

Kmeleon

It's also based off of Mozilla, like Firefox, but is a little more streamlined.
