ETA: When I ETS'd from Active Duty, somewhere along the line, the shippers had helped themselves to some of my stuff, including a few holsters, mags, etc. When I went to Ft. Belvoir to give the report to the office that handles these claims, the first thing out of the lady's mouth was, "Were your pistols registered?" "Why would they be?" "Pistols have to be registered." "Maybe where you're from, but I just came from KS, and we're now in VA. Not a requirement in either place." "<crickets chirping.............> Oh.... never mind."

CA requires Handguns to be registered w/ serial numbers and make/model. Long guns are "registered," but no serial number or make/model. They just know you have a long gun of some sort.

No state registration in Ohio.
Though a few fuckhead towns (Toledo, Cleveland, Cincinnati) have some registration requirements for handguns and some ban "assault rifles" We NEED to fix the CCW in vehicles and the lack of firearm law preemption in this state. |

No, but you do have to register handguns, and a rifle with a folding, collapsing or telecoping stock that is fully functional with the stock collapsed, and is less than 30 inches in length with the stock collapsed is considered a handgun, and must be registered.
So, an AKM with a folding stock, an SKS with a folding stock, a pistol grip shotgun or a shotgun with a collapsing, folding or telescoping stock would have to be registered. Also, any gun with a collapsable, folding or telescoping stock that is less than 26 inches with the stock collapsedis considered a short barreled rifle and is banned in Michigan. Handguns that can have a stock attached to them are also considered short barreled rifles and banned in Michigan. |

of course we do, after all, this is JERSEY! geezzz. the guv. can stick his little toy in someone else backside, screw the state finances up so that NO ONE will ever get it right again, have his home land security have no backround in security, head of state police got canned for a little corruption, human services head gets cought stealing, and the list goes on. but guns, well, who in their right mind would want those?

In Massachusetts we register long arms, short arms, people, etc. and then they either tax us or charge us a fee to enjoy the privilege of registration. Licenses went from $25 to $100.

in oregon nothing (except nfa(and that is federal)) is technically registered, but we do our own nics check and you can be sure those records are not thrown away after the 6 year limit (or whatever it was)

Kinda in Illinois, we need a ID card to buy firearms,ammo etc. So they know me as a gunowner. I will just have to tell them about the foundry accident when they come to collect them.

No registration of any kind in Fla. No state NFA registry. Many sheriffs will accept registration of firearms, but those sheriffs will let you register your tools, too. It's to aid in solving thefts.

If your arms are over 36" then you must register them.
I wear a 36-37 sleeve but get an exemption because my neck is only 16." Anything under 17" is exempt. It's a little known loophole but I take advantage of it. Many of the basketball players get the exemption but the more burly football types don't get it. I, for one, am sick and tired of the opression of the tall and lanky. I mean, SHORT people with little bitty arms don't have to register anything! |

The state did suspend the Denver rule, but Denver is fighting it. |

Only in Clark County, NV. Rest of the state is as God meant it to be. No registration for long arms or hand guns and no waiting period. Just background checks at time of transfer.
