Actually a swimming pool can break up a good deal of ear funk.  You can buy the E.R.O. kit from Wal Mart or some place and do that too...

+1

Although, for safety's sake, you are not supposed to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.

Seriously... they sell ear wax removal kits in most supermarkets.  Put a few drops in..... wait a bit.... then flush it out with the groovy blue squirtball.  Q-tips are bad, ice picks are bad, cloths hangers are bad, tannerite... well, tannerite is good.

Q-tips only on the outside, otherwise you compact the crap on the inside.

Compressed air. Just take the nozzle from you compressor stick it in the ear and let the wax fly!!

You can buy wax remover pretty cheap at the local crug store.  It comes in an eye-dropper type bottle.  Just a few drops in each ear before you go to bed and you'll be hearing the flutter of a gnat's wings.

Well, I kind of have weird ears.  at the end of the ear cannel it closes shut due to the jaw bone pressing against this.  This is due to my incredable strong jaw line and general good looks.

And thus wax builds up easily inside the cannel.

I CAN HEAR RINGING BUT NIOTHING ELSE MUCH!

Damn...

If its because you're sick drink lots of water, get lots of rest, take decongestants, and DO NOT sniffle.

Also you could try equalizing the pressure in your eustacion tubes by opening your mouth really wide with emphasis on the side that feels stuffed up. same principle as chewing gum to relieve pressure changes in an airplane.

Make yourself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich first, then you need a teledyne waterpic, warm water (almost hot) and hydrogen peroxide.

Shoot 50/50 mix of hot water and hydrogen peroxide into ear, wax melts and drips out,
Looks gross like escargot or something but feels great!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is called "Lavage"

Forget Q-tips, they will just push the wax deeper in and make you more deaf.

You need to soak some hydrogen peroxide in there, and do it for a couple days a few times.  They will clear up, but it might take a couple days, mine did.

Never put ANYTHING in your ears to clean/scratch them!

I learned the hard way.

Repeated instances of Swimer's Ear and months of extreme pain/discomfort will be your wages for a few seconds of pleasure.

Just leave them the hell alone okay!

Rent a pressure washer from the hardware store and blast the gunk right out.

You should quit playing with dolls and spend more time on personal hygene.

I have had this problem many times. Mine can get so bad that the peroxide method won't help, and neither will the OTC aids.

Go to an Ears, Nose and Throat doc. They will get in there with a little vacuum and suck that shit right out. Sometimes they will use a small high pressure water hose deal. Your ears will feel awesome.

If you clean your ears out every time after you shower with Q-Tips, it will cut down on this sort of thing.
