I am not really supposed to be talking on chat forums at work. They don't really restrict the net except for porn. But I would rather not get caught on ARFCOM.

So. I have a little program, that runs all the time. It has an icon in the bottom right of the screen and mouseover says "System Restore" But really what it does is this. If I hit my Windows key + z all Internet explorer windows disappear from my screen. They don't even show up in task manager. Hit Windows + Shift + z and they all come back, right where you left them.

Also, all of my UNIX window profiles are set to grey background with black letters. So ARFCOM looks just like another one of my UNIX accesses.

Anyone else have some neat tricks?

No neat tricks, I just minimize it and lock the screen when I leave the computer.

I work grave yard shift by myself. Noone there to give a damn one way or the other what I read (however I still stay away from porn.)

I make the window wide and short and put it at the bottom of the screen. Have to do a lot of scrolling but it beats no arfcom!

When I leave my desk, I always lock the computer down good.

No tricks...fuck whoever doesnt like what I look at.
I get my job done, and I expect to be left alone while I do it.
It just so happens that checking in on the GD helps me think

Who are they to critisize my methods?

I always minimize & lock the screen when I leave my desk (security policy to lock your PC if you're
stepping away from your desk) so it's a force-of-habit.

And despite what they tell you during orientation, as long as you stay away from porn, you don't
have to worry about the admins monitoring...
