First shot for the $10 million today. They've got to hit 62 miles twice in two weeks.

There's a Canadian team who's almost ready to go as well.

Spaceship one is airborne...will take about an hour to get to launch altitude...Expected to separate from Mother Ship at about 11:15 Eastern....MSNBC seems to be covering it.

Yeah, that scared the hell out me.  Testimony to the skill of the guy flying that. For a minute I didn't think he'd get her back.

I was also yelling "Go!" at my TV.

Holy crap that asent was really scary.  He had one hell of an uncontrolled roll going on as he was leaving the atmosphere.

Yeah...around 130-150k feet, that roll was pretty rapid...I was half expecting to start seeing parts flying off the craft, it didn't look good at all. But they stabilized it around 250k or so.  It's on the way down and looking good.

And she's on the ground.

Rutan on CNN (once the ship was down) said that the roll event is nice because it "writes a chapter in the book".

How big of a crowbar did they have to use to get MM's huge balls out of the hatch today? Was it bigger than the one used to get the seat out of his butt? Huge pucker factor today!

What a fantastic achievement! Go!
