poll coming

MPA gave me one when i took my cabine in for service. At first i thought great more weight on the front end.
Actually it completely kills flash and the report is cut down a small bit with it. Worth buying? probobly not but the effect was neat for a freebie. |
Only if its used to bring the barrel out to legal length without looking stupid, like on an RF94.
They are a must for making sub-guns not look silly with 16" bbls. They also have their place on reproduction guns. Otherwise, whatever makes you happy.
+1 I'm gonna put one on my 94 clone whenever I get the cash to finish it |
I would agree with this. |

Eggsaktlee. |

you know you don't have to put an option "i vote to see the results"? people can just click on vote without making a choice and it will show them teh results...
btw, fake cans are ghey |
+1 Here's hoping that is what FN does with the (mythical?) civie version of the P90. |
Cheaper to have a fake silencer on my krinkov then get the tax stamp for a SBR
Good point! |
For $200 and your CLEO's signature you don't have to worry about it. I'm dying for a Krink, but the idea of adding a long barrel or a fake supressor makes my stomach hurt. I'll wait till I can afford the real thing, SBR Tax and all. The above is just my opinion, and not meant as an attack. |
not taken as one if i could afford the tax stamp right now i would get it and a new barrel
It's like wearing a cucumber in your pants at the high school dance.
I like it for the wishy-washy that can't make up their minds, oh, say like John Kerry. |
Same as a V-6 Mustang...............all show, no go! Why not just put a Ferrari kit on your Fiero? Or stuff your pants with a sock on a first date?
Or just buy an Airsoft with a TacPoint. |
$200 - cost of fake can - cost of US parts (no US parts needed on an SBR) = not that much cheaper. |

They have their uses. I considered getting one to kill some of the noise of of a mini-y comp. It still would have been loud, but if I needed to shoot without hearing protection, it would make a big difference.
I think they are more appropriate when they are actually fitted over a longer barrel. So you have the look of a suppressed krink but with the legal length and better ballistics.
So it's kewl to be a POSER? Kinda like putting Z-28 stickers on your 6 banger Camaro? |
Dude,
I got one, a hakko and a sure-fire knock-off all mounted on my airsoft! |
Fake surpressors- very sad… but I'm biased, lsupressor egal and recommended fitment here in Britain! Health and Safety…

one of the few gun related laws the brits got right. mike |
I just ended up getting real ones...... Fake ones are pointless. Just SBR it (or go full-auto ). Looks better anyway.
I have a fake supressor on my Cobray M11
It really helps control the gun and gives a nice place to hold onto when bump firing from the hip. |
No, but its cool to be poor. Maybe you cant afford a suppressor. Maybe theyre not legal in your county. Maybe its pointless to have a suppressor on your weapon because you cant get subsonic ammo for it and you still get the supersonic crack which isnt worth $500. Maybe you have a $200 subgun that needs more forward weight. Maybe you have a MP5 clone for plinking and it looks like ASS with a skinny ass barrel sticking out. And how did you know I have a V6 camaro? |
The only weapons that I have ever put the 'fake suppressors' on are the various Cobray M-11/9s that I have owned.
It was more of a convenience thing, since it helps in holding the weapon and keeping your hand from in front of the muzzle. But I cannot think of another weapon that I would ever use one on now. Eric The(HonestToBetsy)Hun |

Reminds me of the kid in the "My Friend Gave Me A M-16" thread.
Even before I went down that old NFA road I thought fake suppressors were idiotic and never would have had one. Now I know they are. |

Sorry, I'm not up on the commie rifle world, so that comment goes right over my head |

That's fine and good in most "free" states. We in Alabama, unfortunately, have a unique situation where FA & suppression are legal (with the proper Federal fees/paperwork) but SBR/SBS are specifically forbidden. IMO they (fake cans) can be an aesthetic improvement in some applications - I had them for my HK94 & my UZI carbine. Sometimes they can even be useful (the MAC-11 example already cited - I don't shoot my MACs nearly enough to justify the expense/red tape of a real suppressor, but the fake can makes them more controllable, easier to shoot, etc.). FWIW, I do plan to get a real suppressor for use on some of my ARs very soon. |
