Hey team,

Looking to put together a little fun trip to Foxwoods. I've had some minimal experiance, read a LOT, so I have a good idea what the good and bad bets are, and just looking for some personal advice/anecdotes.

Does anyone have any experiances to share from Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun?

Are any of the indian establishments in Maine worth going to?

I play blackjack, have basic strategy down, some counting experiance. I hear Foxwoods doesn't pick on counters, but penetration sucks. Any adivce, counting system you like?

I like slots, any advice? I'm pretty comfortable with bankroll management, good games, good pays?

Looking to get into craps, any advice?

Anyone know how to get coupons, how the comp system works, how to get a free room, etc? Don't suppose anyone here's a high enough roller to get a brother hooked up with a comped room, huh?

Anybody want to sell a cheap slot machine?

Thanks all,

Snowmaster

I personally dont gamble, but a lot of my friends and family are into it....have heard good stuff about both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. Dont know much about the reservations in Maine...but the other two seem real popular...my mother-in-law is up there all the damn time.

Enjoy

Stick to Mohegan Sun. I like it alot
better than Foxwoods - seems to be
a bigger, more happening place.

Good man. Best game in the house.

I don't count, per se, but I keep track of the
face cards. After a long drought of low cards,
I usually start up betting.

Must work well. My blackjack winnings in Vegas
last week paid for my drinks, food, and
entertainment.

Yeah. Run away.

IMHO, of course. But then I hate
slots.

Not in CT. I can get rooms/food/flights
comp'ed in Vegas playing nothing but
$10/$25 blackjack.

Sign up for the player card and you'll
probably get a free dinner ($50) out of
one nights work.

Good luck!

+1

Foxwoods was nice in it's day, but since Mohegan Sun expanded a couple years ago Mohegan is ALL IN. Obviously if you're JUST going to gamble you can sit anywhere and throw bets down, but assuming you'll want to spend a little time away from the tables there are way more options. The Waitresses at Lucky's Lounge are worth the trip alone.

I'm not a huge gambler, but have found that with a little bit of practice and understanding some Basic Strategy you can have a lot more fun playing Blackjack with a group of people than sitting at a slot machine pouring your money in. The first time I ever played BJ I was able to play for several hours without losing much ground, whereas my girlfriend sat at the slots and had lost all of the money that she'd allocated within about 20 minutes ... Play something where you can affect the outcome, slots are the Casinos favorite game because all they have to do is collect their winnings.
