Not meaning your to say your wife is anything more than an honorary member of the old boys club but if she is Fed LEO she might just be able to get a little more info if she approaches the right people and asks if she should have concerns  but then you don't necessarily want to be doing anything that might later be construed as illegal surveillance either.
