So what'll it be?
The car from The Simpsons that Home made for his brother
ETA: Now I see you have a poll. Lambo for me. |
Bmw 850i with twin T-61 turbochargers
should be good for about 1400 whp |
Out of those choices, I voted for the GT.
But I would really love a brand new Rubicon. |
Hm. Well... I'm not too familiar with supercars, but I would have to vote for the SLR McLaren.
eh...if you say so. The block would split at around 900, the stock pistons at around 600. 1400whp is more like 1700hp at the crank. Ford GT, modular engine = more aftermarket parts than all the others combined, for 1/4 the price. |

Keep the Eurotrash.
Dream car? 1956 Chevy Nomad, 2 door fire engine red .030 over 327, single 4bbl tunnel ram, Holley 750 double pumper, 462 heads, engine innards to match 2:2 Muncie, Mr. Gasket vertical gate shifter, 11" clutch narrowed older 12 bolt rear end with a set of highway gears and a set of 4:11s 50s stuffed up underneath, classic Cragar S/S mags all around. And now for something completely different: If I couldn't have the Nomad, I'll take an original Hummer with a diesel, custom U.S.M.C. paint job. (camo) |
I'm a little more down to earth.
I'd be happy with an '05 Elise. If I was going to go stupid crazy after winning the lotto or something, it'd be Ford GTs for everybody. |

Top Ten
1932 Ford roadster, Black primer, flathead, lakepipes, quick-change rear end. 1950 Mercury, Black, Full Kustom Lead Sled 1955 Chevy, Black with Cragar SS wheels, straight axle front end, 327, 4-speed 1957 Chevrolet Corvette, Black with White Coves, Cragar SS Wheels, 327, 4-speed 1967 Chevy II Nova, White with Cragar SS wheels, 327, 4-speed. 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback, Green with Torque Thrust wheels (ala Bullitt) 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, Black with White SS stripes, Z-28 302, 4-speed 1970 Chevrolet Nova, Gold with Black SS stripes, 396, 4-speed 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, Black with White SS stripes, LS6 454, 4-speed 1970 Plymouth 'Cuda Black with Cragar SS wheels, 426 Hemi, 4-speed |

How about 1 of 2 shelby cobras that came from the factory with a 427 and a pair of paxton superchargers. Man that thing would out run everything but a gas station, if you could ever get traction.

I agree with gamesniper, keep your Eurotrash.
'70 Superbee hardtop coupe. 440 stroked up to 500ci, Indy 440-1 or SR heads, 2x4 650 Edelbrock AVS carbs on progressive linkage...or a MoTec EFI setup. A833 tranny running an inline stick or a Tremec T-56. Either with a McLeod dual-disc clutch. Pair of Dana 60s, one for the street with 3.54 gears and one to horse around at the track, with 4.27 gears. Cragar S/S 15x7 rims up front, widened steelies (15x10-12) out back. |
The post is 'Dream Car', not 'Nightmare Car'. DUH! |
There's a nice '70 Superbee for sale around here but I don't know what the guys asking for it. |
That's you?! HOLY SHIT! Excellent work! |
I voted for the lambo out of the current choices, but a ZL1 corvette would be pretty nice. Or perhaps GNX #1.
I bought a loaded 2004 Corvette convertable back in July. That has always been my dream car & its still like a dream every time I get in & drive!
NICE STUFF! I picked the Murcielago, but I shoulda picked 'other' and put the following list down: Lamborghini Countach (classic italian supercar) Ferrari 512M <-- what I *really* want BD-10J (ok, ok, not a car, but a pretty cool 80s kitplane as long as it doesn't break up in midair) |
BMW m-5
500 hp, and you can take the kids to dinner. Or scare the HELL out of your friends. TXL |
Easy: Saleen S7. Modern european supercar style, AMERICAN big block power. A very close second would be the Ford GT.
Ford's unproven first foray into production supercars makes the poll (and leads, no less) and no Porsche GT, no Ferrari Enzo? I'm a very confused little boy. |
Canyonero... just like Marge's!
How about either the Ford GT or the new Porsche Turbo cab? |
atta boy Glen! Get Some ! |
69 Dodge Dart with the optional rust package. Actually a C6 Vette would do just fine
never mind the original ford GT40, which whupped porsche and ferrari. Or the fact that the Ford GT has won every comparison test that it's been in. |
the GT40 was not a production car
love to see the comparison tests that any production Ford GT has been in... I haven't seen one. eta: not to mention that what happened with the GT40 in the 60s has very little relevance to a modern production supercar |
they put it against the GT3 and the Challenge Stradale. another one, the Gallardo. and the SRT-10 vipper. The GT40 was production...how else do you explain street legal GT40s running around the streets of the US and UK? |
Ditto that. I just read i think Road & Track, and they said the Enzon out accelerates anything on the road. Including the GT. |
Methinks you need to go back and read the entire thread. |
Incorrect, legal boy. They had to make a certain of street cars in order to race back then. If you bought one, they flew you to England and the seats and pedals were custom fitted for you. |
Not a dream, well for my brother at least. He wanted to restore my moms old car. 1971 Ford Torino GT. So we went down to TN to get another one.cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7917186373&category=6783&sspagename=WDVW#ShippingPayment
I wanted to keep tracked and made a little page on my site. Here is the project to date. FPS-Torino |
