HI Gents,
CETME was close enough. This is a Santa Barbara 5.56 'L' rifle. The 5.56mm L and LC rifles were developed by CETME, now part of Santa Barbara, carrying over many features from earlier CETME 7.62mm rifles, including the CETME delayed-blowback locking roller system. Outwardly the L and LC resemble earlier CETME designs scaled down to suit the 5.56mm caliber. The main difference between the two is that the L has a fixed butt stock while that for the LC telescopes to reduce overall transport length. Early production models employed a 20-round magazine, but this was modified to allow the use of M16 type 30-round magazines. A three-round burst feature was optional. Production of the L and LC rifles has ceased, the only known users being the Spanish Army. Cheers, RG.nl |

Hkocher, you really should know better. This is what a G41 rifle looks like. My boss received one for his collection few weeks ago.

Hey back off![:D] I know what a G41 looks like, and I noticed a bit of difference in the a3 stock, trigger housing and forearm, so I figured it was a prototype, CETME didn't cross my mind, although it should have. But if you think about it, was I REALLY that far off??? CETME is the sister company of H&K, same operation, same type of receiver, both are modified to accept AR mags, etc... Basically the same gun, made by a different country with a few minor cosmetic differences. |
