Just got a sale flyer from Burden's Surplus Center, and they're advertising what  appear to be exact copies of the Honda GX-series horizontal-shaft engines...for about half the cost.

For example, the 5.5 HP version is advertised for a little under $190.

Anyone know anything about this "PowerTrain" brand?

A friend of mine bought one of those about a year ago. It siezed up about 3 months after he bought it. Warranty was done, and the supplier would'nt take it back. Cheap Chinese shit. Buy at own risk.

Ever since Honda's patents on the overhead valve GX and GXV series engines expired, it seems everyone has to build one.

It certainly looks nice, but I would run very fast in the other direction.
