I disagree on that being the worst place to get them.  On the outside of your lower gum, right in front above your chin where the skin from the inner part of your lower lip meets the gumline is THE worst place to get them

I've never gotten one. I heard only gay sailors get them.

Anyone can get canker sores, but people in their teens and 20s get them more often. Canker sores may run in families, but they aren't contagious. Doctors don't know what causes canker sores, but stress may be a factor.

Good grief.  I've done that before, and let me tell you ... IT WAS HORRIBLY NASTY!

There's an off the shelf medication called Kanka that I've found works wonders.  It's pracitcally a contact anasthetic.  Stops canker pain almost instantly.

I get them sometimes too.

I DON'T get them IF i take a vitamin regularly.

I used to get them horribly. Chiro recommended a vitamin.

I just had some horrible ones. For like a week. Took vitamins for 3 days... poof! Gone.

Everytime.

Tea bag on the sores help. Crushed cloves.

Any kind of mouthwash can't hurt, peroxide is a little iffy in book, but I'm sure them kanker meds would be the best.

If they are in my gums I pack it with salt for awhile.  Suure it stings some, but they go away real FAST.

If it's on my tongue, I'll spend a day or two eating sunflower seeds all day long.  The salt really helps.

Try Rembrandt Whitening Toothpaste for Canker Sore Suffers, it is the only thing that works, but you need to use it every time you brush.  Go to www.rembrant.com for more information.

I have one on the front right side of my lower lip... Ended up taking a chunk out of it when I was eating, by accidentally biting it REALLY hard. Kinda ruined the meal.. ;[

Yep, a pinch of salt on it does the trick.
