Another Hollyweird elitist socialist prick that thinks he knows what's best for everyone.

This was the same fucktard that got shitcanned after opening his pie hole after 9/11 remember?

I need to go copy the "321" smiley from Preban.

I see what Kodiak is trying to say. He's saying that instead of launching cruise missles from 1500 miles away, we instead need to get closer to them, grab them by the belt buckle and stomp a mudhole in their ass. But if you notice, we don't fight like we did in the 90's when Clinton was in anymore. That's all he would do. Launch missiles and drop bombs, Bush uses boots on the ground when needed. That said, if you have the technology, use it to your advantage. You think for one second that if those terrorist fucks had them that they'd fail to use them? I think not.

Now, back to the topic. Bill Maher is a piece of shit. He was never very funny when it came to comedy. Realizing that, the dude has tried to switch from being a comedian to a damn philosopher. Why do so many in Hollyweird think they are Confucious these days? These people aren't special, just goofy ass celebrities who have no idea what life is like for 98% of Americans. They live in the same fictional world as the characters they play on screen. In other words, they have no clue. If I want someone's opinion, I feel more inclined to listen to what a common man has to say, since he lives in the same world I do. Maher can kiss my ass.

Yeah I don't understand why everybody jumped on Maher for saying that (it got his show cancelled!). It's true. And even if it wasn't, he's entitled to his opinion.

You don't have to die in every situation to be a hero. So he wants our fighter pilots to kamikaze and leave families behind, just so he can say "Yes, he wasn't a coward, I feel sorry for the family, but they can live on without him knowing that he was not a coward". Eh? Yeah that seems like good logic.

Bill Maher has a right to voice his opinion, that's true, but you need to remember that everyone else does too.  Sears and FedEx voiced their opinions by pulling their advertising, viewers voiced their opinions by changing the channel.  How can you have a problem with that?
As for the stupidity of his statements:
He was correct about the cowardice of the US only as it relates to the conduct of Bill Clinton.
He was and is truly a coward and forced our military to fight his way.  The implication that
our soldiers are cowards got a lot of people seriously pissed off.
The statement that it takes courage to ride an aircraft into a building is evidence of his own personal cowardice.  He assumes that everyone has his "me first" view and that there is no ideal higher than his own personal survival.   Those hijackers were cowards.  They murdered thousands of innocent people because they thought they would be better off in the afterlife for it.  I suppose he views people who committ suicide as heroes as well rather than as chickenshits who lack the courage to face life on its own terms and who care nothing for the poor soul who finds the dead body of a loved one.
Dying is easy, living is hard.

"Jumping" on Maher is simply the expression of competing opinions. ABC's opinion (or was it HBO) was that the benefits of producing his TV show were not worth the cost of the public's dislike.

I think the idea of "bravery" is cheapened when applied to jihadists attacking unarmed civilian non-combatants.  Following that, one could also argue that the Beslan terrorists are "braver" than the crews that operate US Navy ships firing cruise missiles. Most of those terrorists knew they were going to die, as well. The cause must factor in at some point, or the term loses meaning.

There's simply no point in saying it other than to shock, and Maher's use of it is typical of liberal self-loathing and a sympathy, of sorts, for "aggrieved underclasses" struggling against the US.

I think brainwashing negates any aspects of bravery.  Bravery, by its nature, is selfless courage in the face of extreme danger, sacrificing yourself for others with specific knowledge that one might not come out alive.  These terrorists are doing it for themselves motivated by promises of a glorious afterlife.  The brainwashing the Islamo-Fascists receive turns them into robots.  A robot is not a brave freedom fighter.

Bullshit. If some suicidal asshole enters the freeway going the wrong direction in an attempt to kill himself and as many other people as possible, would you label that person brave?

I'm glad I wasn't in that studio audience or NBC would have to throw me out.

Did anyone else notice that even the hooting liberals in the crowd didn't know how to react when Maher said, "...a smart guy, like Bin Laden."  Everyone was dead silent for seconds.  Even Conan didn't say anything.

I was half-hoping that Dog Chapman would come out and stomp the shit out of Maher.

Why do they always have to be brain washed?

I agree that they must be true believers, however there is a very real chance that they actually thought that this was the right thing to do after taking all opinions, and options into consideration. Dont be so quick to assume that your total pice of shit enemy is a fool. Always assume they have a brain and can think otherwise be ready for a blind sideing.

Opinions and options?!  What are a you talking about?  They are brainwashed because they have no education otherwise.  Their entire lives, from the time they can speak and reason is filled with Anti-American, Anti-West, Anti-Christian dogma.  There is no middle ground.  They have no other frame of reference, hence "brainwashing".
